Audioengine D2 Premium 24-bit Wireless DACAudioengine D2 Premium 24-bit Wireless DAC allows you to stream wireless HD audio from your computer to any music system, independent of your Wi-Fi network. D2 includes USB and optical inputs, a high-performance DAC, plus the isolation benefits of wireless. Setup is fast and simple, with no software to install and without the frustration of trying to connect to your network. Game-Changing Computer AudioThe D2 offers audio fidelity and features of DACs costing several times more, but with one very important feature - it's wireless! D2 is a simple to use yet powerful digital-to-analog converter with performance and features generally found in much more expensive DACs. The D2 processes digital audio at any bit depth up to 24 bits and sample rates to 192KHz, then sends your music over-the-air at 24/96. It accepts USB or PCM-stereo optical and will automatically configure to match either of these inputs. Easy Setup and Simple OperationBypass your computer's sound card or headphone jack and send wireless HD audio to any music system. D2 transmits all music file formats from any computer media player and can simultaneously transmit HD audio to up to 3 wireless receivers. The 100ft (30m) typical range, low latency, built-in DAC, and resistance to interference and dropouts makes D2 the best-sounding HD wireless system available. VersatileThe D2 is actually three products in one - a high-quality USB wireless computer DAC, a wire

I've been using the Audioengine D2 for almost one month now and I am sold. The D2 replaced my Apple Airport Express as my bedside music server. The fact that the D2 streams up to 24/96k without the need of sample rate change on my Mac is a great feature. My Airport Express was limited to 16/44.1 only. I am using the D2 as a bedside system. The system consists of an Audio Techinca headphones amp and a variety of headphones in my collection. The Audioengine D2 consists of two units, a sending and receiving unit. Both units was very easy to set up. The sending unit uses the USB for audio and power. I love the one cable simplicity. The receiving unit does require the included power supply for power. A pair of unbalanced RCA outs goes to your preamp, headphones amp or powered speakers. One sending unit can stream music to a maximum of three receiving units. This allows for multi-rooms set up. The entire system uses it's own 802.11g WiFi network. It does not connect to your home network so no networking skills is required. Set up as as easy as pushing one button on the front panel to Pair the system. In fact, I didn't even need to do that. The two unit found each other like an arranged marriage. I connect a pair of unbalanced RCA cables from the receiving unit to my Audio Technica headphones amp. Set the sending unit's volume control on the front panel to Max. This allows me to use the Audio Technica headphones amp as my main volume controller and I was off to the races. The music came through without any hiccups/dropouts or issues. Select my favorite album on my iPhone via Apple Remote app and I enjoying music. The sound coming from the D2 was very enjoyable. I noticed the music had excellent PRaT (Pace, Rhythm and Timing). The D2's sound signature was relatively neutral.Read more ›

I have McIntosh audio equipment from the 1990's and have been running my Mac through it. After running it through the Audioengine D2 the sound difference is amazingly better. It is one of the best upgrades I have made to my system. Ted

Initially i had one "out-of-the-box" issue with one of the power adaptors - but i contacted AudioEngine - and they were very responsive - and the problem may have been "operator" error.

That aside, i find the AudioEngine D2 Digital to Analogue Converter to be an exceptional investment in a piece of audiophile grade electronics that allows me to interconnect my computer music library with my vintage sound system. The D2 functions flawlessly and performs as described. The wireless feature is a great innovation - making hook-up to any computer a snap.. And the device works exceptionally well with music streamed from YouTube or internet radio stations. The transformed sound quality is remarkable and helps to deliver an audiophile grade signal to my "vintage" sound system.

I would highly recommend this piece of audio gear to any music enthusiast who is interested in getting much better quality sound from their computer music libraries and/or other digital sources including the internet.

To AudioEngine - i would say "Well Done" ! ! !

This is a fantastic product. If you want a DAC and don't want to run a long cable, this is the answer. The Audioengine D2 provides pristine sound. My 24 bit 96kHz flac files sound amazing coming out of my B&W speakers. Thanks Audioengine!!!
