Nice little dvd player, and easy for kids to operate. However, the battery life (2 hours) could be a little longer.

I got this for my kids to use in the car. My youngest gets cranky quickly in the car, but this thing keeps her happily watching Scooby Doo. I like that it has a power adapter for the car and for the house. I've even taken it to the grocery store so my 2 year old can sit patiently in the cart while I shop. We've had it for about two weeks and it works like a charm. However, the screen does scratch easily. You have to be a bit careful of that.

We have owned this for about a year. Our 4 year old uses it for trips and around the house. It has been dropped at least a dozen times and keeps playing. We are starting to have problems with it accepting a charge - you have to jiggle where the charger plugs in and it's getting fussier and fussier. We have chargers for it for the the car and house so we never worry about it running out of juice. We really like this style she can hold it or it will sit upright on a table. When this one dies we will get another one.

We have owned this dvd player for almost one year. We wish the battery had a longer life. My 4.5 yr old has dropped it a couple of times and the hinge is broke. Also, it skips when you hit a bump in the car or open the stand to sit it up on the table. You have to hold the buttons in for a couple seconds for them to work and my son gets a little frustrated. We do like the design, but wish it was more kid durable.

My niece has had this forever and uses it all the time, it is great because the controls are on top and it easily mounts to any car seat - the only problem and this may JUST be the one i got was defective, but the battery did not charge or hold a charge. We ended up having to always have it plugged into the car or buy an external battery life pack - I never returned it because she was already so attached, but perhaps you can check other reviews to see how often this happens with this item.

I bought this for long car trips for my kid. It did it's job in keeping her entertained. There were few issues with operation (no skipping, sound issues, etc.) In fact, it strapped behind the driver's headrest, and as long as the volume was not too loud, the driver (me) was not bothered by the volume level. The picture quality and sound (I did climb in the back to watch once or twice) was exceptional for the price.

However, after limited usage over 1+ year, the sound and display suddenly went out. After some tinkering (open up and jiggle the optical cable), I have gotten the sound to return. Due to the age of the item (> 1yr) and cost, I can *wish* I got more life than 6-10 long trips, but that's about it.

I now have the opportunity to "crack it open" and see if I can restore both pic and sound. If you're looking for a durable dvd player, look elsewhere. If you want economical and have low expectations, grab one.

This is the best DVD for kids. I can't tell you how many times it's been dropped on a hard floor and still it works like a charm. I am very impressed with this DVD player. The part where you put the DVD is hidden so kids can't open it easily unless you explain it to them. I like this because I know that the DVD's will stay there until I change them. Helps with breaking and scratching. My 2 year old just holds it most of the time. The little device on the back could be a bit larger that holds the DVD upright if you are not holding it in your lap. But that is the only complaint. My mom is looking for one right now to buy for my nephew but we can't find it anymore.

We got one for Christmas for my 5 year old, and so far it's still working great. We have had no problem so far. The size of screen is just right, not too small like the other brands. We like that it is portable and has built-in battery, and also has a car charger. Now, my older son who's 8 also wants one for himself too, so I'm ordering another one.

I bought this for my 2 year old to watch movies on car trips... battery stopped taking a charge after a week so it only ran on the 12 v plug... sent back to target for refund....
Picutre is washed out in sunlight. poor viewing angles, and no remote.
I would not recommend this product.. I have ordered a sony FX-820 to replace this so hopefully it will be a better DVD player
