4.0 out of 5 stars So far, I love it!
We have only had this for a week, but we are very pleased. It does have that high pitch sound, but found if we keep a disc in, it is soo much quieter. We bought the 3yr. hassle free, extended warranty from Target for $29, I think you can purchase it for 90 days after purchase (may have to show a Target receipt, but it is a "generic: all electronics $200-$300", so maybe...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nifty little TV with a few issues, August 24, 2008
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
If you are reading this review, you know that there are not a lot of options out there for an under-cabinet TV like this. I had several criteria that I HAD to meet and this was the only one that met all the criteria. I needed it to be as large as possible while still flipping up under the cabinet. It needed to be able to swivel both directions and it had to look good in both the up and down positions.

My impressions of this TV: It feels cheap. The entire unit is very lightweight and feels flimsy. The screen is very light feeling. That is one of my main concerns with this product. The only other issue I had (have) with this product is as soon as I plugged it in, it started to make a very high pitch, high frequency sound. That sound goes away when you turn on the TV or DVD player, but it is there when the unit is in standby. I returned my first set because I figured there had to be a problem with it. Unfortunately, the second one makes the same sound, so I am under the impression that this is considered normal. I'm trying to see if I can live with the sound, but I'm very sensitive to high frequencies, so I am becoming quite annoyed by it. I really don't want to have to return this because there isn't anything else out there that is as slick as this.

The good things about this TV:
-Mounting was a breeze. It comes with a very simple template for drilling. I swear I had the thing mounted in 10 minutes.
-It has a very clean look.
-Picture quality seems pretty good. I'm not expecting a lot, but a 720p 12" screen is bound to look pretty good

The bad things about this TV:
-High pitch noise when in standby
-Lack of inputs/outputs. This ONLY has COAX (RF) input. Nothing else! I really wish it had at least a couple other options for inputs
-Would be nice if there was an option to connect external speakers.
-Cheap feeling (concerned about how long it will last)
-Expensive

We usually don't buy these extended warranties, but what a deal, glad we did! I didn't think we needed such a big screen for a small kitchen, but I love it. I like the dvd, the am/fm radio, great picture, etc. great features, very easy to install and use!

Using it in Class C RV. Mounted easily. Sound with TV is OK, but when using DVD the sound is so low it can't be used unless everyone is quiet and RV is plugged in to 'shore power'. Can't be using roof AC as the sound is too loud. The generator, which isn't terribly loud, is too loud to use the DVD player. And, no outputs for sound, headphones, coax... nothing, lest I'd add an external amp and speakers set up.

It would probably be fine in a kitchen full of hard surfaces to amplify the sound levels. This is a small, carpeted space, 4-5 feet away from it, it still doesn't cut it while driving, or on generator power, or with roof AC on as those sound levels overpower it.
Paid $300 in July 08.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasts, June 15, 2009
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
I have owned this model for less than a year and it quit. I know it only has a 90 day warranty, but for the price you should get more. The standby sound is annoying, but copable. The picture was great and the size was good. Once it goes it is trash. This morning ours started turning itself off. I could reset the clock, turn it on and LCD display would just fade and turn off. The only function I can get to work is the radio and the quality is not that good. Needless to say, I have removed it and sent it for recycling. I will be buying a much less expensive HDTV that has a larger screen. I will just move it out of the way when not needed.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
We purchased this TV several months ago for use in our Kitchen. It provides adequate TV for news and non musical entertainment, but comes up short for quality of sound or clarity of picture. Installation was not that difficult, but a little more complicated that we anticipated. The template does not completely match the securing holes of the TV mounting, but will work if you do not try to use a smaller drill bit than recommended as I did at first. The radio receiver is a big disappointment in that it does not pick up our local AM stations and can only pick up one FM station. However, all in all, we would probably purchase this item again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great until it DIED, July 28, 2009

This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
I bought this under the cabinet TV in November of 2007 on Black Friday. We didn't get it out of the box and install it until January of 2008. It has worked fabuously and I have LOVED it. It has a great size screen for what else is available, I thought the sound was fine, Dvd player was great, for the most part I ddn't have complaints. I have small children that watch it every morning and I liked to have it on while cleaning the kitchen. What is frustrating is that after 18 months of use it just DIED without warning. One day it wouldn't turn on, seems like a power connecting, then after fiddling with it it came on totally fine and gave me no more problems until I turned the power off again. It did this 2 more times and now just flickers non-stop on and off. It has not even been 48 hours since the first problem and it's toast. Now I'm going to have to take it apart to get my DVD out and find a way to replace it without spending a fortune.

I got a great deal on this (I think I paid around $150) but it was on black friday. How they can ask over $300 for it now just blows my mind. I think it was a good purchase for us, since we definitely got ton of use out of it, but I am definitel disappointed that it died out of the blue.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly good unit., December 8, 2010
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
I have used this unit for about 3 years now. In the fold down kitchen tv market it was about the only option. I had a period of time the DVD would not eject. I finally got it open without damaging the unit and it now appears to be working fine. I use it while preparing meals in the kitchen. I have not experienced the high pitch noise noted by other reviewers. Maybe this was a later unit and the problem was corrected. The sound level is satisfactory for my kitchen though it is much better with a DvD playing than broadcast TV. I hate the fact that the inputs and outputs are limited to a cable connection. The HD receiver gives a decent picture from a 12' attennae I have in the attic. It is a lightweight and the fold down has been a concern because it does not seem sturdy but with much care it has held up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great kitchen TV, October 13, 2009
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
We purchased this from Target in June. There have been no problems with the picture or sound so far. It definitely helped using a power attenna from Radio Shack (cost $40). We paid over $300 for this unit, which I thought was out of line, but it well made with good controls, and a very good magnetic remote. The radio sound is not as good, and there is some buzzing on the AM channels, but we bought it chiefly for the digital TV. We are 30 miles from St. Louis, and receive 5 of the 6 network channels, plus 2 other digital channels. We can see the "big" screen clearly from anywhere in our kitchen. We did purchase the extended warranty through Target (just in case). Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Reflecting screen, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913 (Electronics)
This is the second KLV 3913 I have purchased within the last year. The first reflected so badly from the screen we could not enjoy the picture. We returned it and (unfortunately) bought a Memorex MVUC821 (have had nothing but trouble with that - first DVD didn't work, then remote gave us trouble constantly and we bought new; now the unit is stuck on icon displaying "TV Guardian Information" on screen and "Initial" above -- will not play anything).

Bought a new KLV3913 hoping something had been done about reflecting screen; however, the new one reflects just like a mirror.

I don't see anyone else complaining about this. Am I missing something? The Memorex did have a protective clear plastic over the screen and also reflected until that was pealed off. I don't see any such protective peal off plastic on the Audiovox. It was just wrapped in plastic wrap.

Any suggestions?
