Installed this the other day in about an hour. I have a Yukon XL (same as a Suburban) and running the video cable the entire length of the truck made my head hurt. With this I popped up the trim panel just inside the rear hatch, put the transmitter underneath it, and spliced the wires right onto the power and ground for the camera. Then I ran one wire to the reverse light on one side and was done. The receiver I just spliced in when I put the head unit in two weeks ago, no issues at all.Performance is pretty solid. There is some static randomly, can't tell if it's from bumps or electrical interference or what, but scrambled lines will show up across the monitor from time to time. However, it does what it needs to do and turns on quickly enough that as soon as you shift into reverse it's already on.

I bought inexpensive night vision back up cam from Japan and attached the wireless adapter to it along w connecting the receiver to another inexpensive screen China.Guess What? I can watch Godzilla w chinese subtitles in my car.(LOL) No, realy is a great unit and much better than the wires running all over and getting pulled out. And "YES" I did get the camera from Japan and the receiver from China. ALOT CHEAPER. I am going to get another set to make a custom Baby Sitter spy cam. Great Quality. Well worth the price even with shipping and the company was super to deal with also. Quick service, good customer relations,

I installed this in the back door of a 2006 Chevrolet Express 3500 Extended 15 passenger van. I used some zip ties to hang/suspend it on some of the rails behind the passenger side rear barn door panel. I was just a little worried about the distance it would need to transmit (from the rear door, through 3-4 bench seatbacks to the dashboard in this 15 passenger van). But it seems to do very well. Some people have reviewed that shorter distances with this transmitter/receiver are a problem, but this distance seems pretty good. I do see some noise, usually after first starting the van and the Kenwood head receiver/video unit has switched to displaying the backup video, usually the video noise isnt too bad and will often abate entirely. Overall I completely happy with this purchase after installing it over a month ago.

I purchased this item and it worked sporadically. At times it would work and then most the time it wouldn't. I tried placing it in several different locations to no avail. I eventually ended up ripping it out and running a hard wire from my camera to my receiver (what I should have done in the first place).

I agree with the recent reviewer, this unit is a poor design. Transmitted video has too much noise induced at very short distances. Don't waste your money on this. Take it from an Electrical Engineer.

I installed this unit and it was horrible. The display was full of feedback and/or noise that made it pretty much useless. I ended up just hardwiring the backup camera and feeding the cable through the entire car. I went to Car Toys to see if they could troubleshoot it for me and check my installation before going through the trouble of hardwiring. They told me that the install was solid and they quit selling this product because they had the same issues with several vehicles. They said they even installed it in smaller cars (vw) and the transmitter was not strong enough. I even ran the cables all the way to the front of the car (with the transmitter and receiver within one foot of each other) and still had the same issues.Personally don't recommend this product and would seek alternative.

Bought this wireless B/U Camera Trans/Receiver because my last one went on the blink and to avoid having to route wires under the truck and up into the cab. However, I didn't realize that the transmitter had to be located inside of a trunk or other dry location, since it can't get wet, so I didn't install the wireless system. I bit the bullet and hardwired the camera instead. Can not therefore rate the performance of the product. Wireless systems do tend to create video noise, so perhaps it was worth the extra effort to hardwire the system.
