I bought this a couple of weeks ago from Amazon. When I purchased it there were no reviews, positive or negative, so I really was just taking a stab in the dark. Then before it had arrived, I noticed the one negative comment that someone had recently posted. I was bummed and already starting to write it off as a loss. HOWEVER! When it arrived a week later, I was THRILLED! I kept waiting for something to go wrong after reading such strong negative comments from the previous buyer, but it never did. Yes, the radio is the good old fashioned dial instead of digital, but I don't mind it in the least, in fact most of my other radios are that way lol. It still finds my channels and the sound comes in great! We have played over 20 cds back to back on it with no skipping, no stopping, and crystal clear sound! I haven't popped a cassette tape in yet because I don't own one lol, so I can't give you any comments on that aspect. It is much smaller than I was expecting, which is a positive surprise for me. All in all, I am VERY PLEASED with this little machine. In fact, I am now on here to order another one so I can put one in my son's room as well. I haven't found one single thing wrong with this boom box, and have only found positive unexpecteds, not negatives. It's a bummer that the other man that ordered his, had so many things go wrong. It must have been damaged in shipping or something, which even that is bizzare to me because mine came SO well packaged. Seriously padded in there. :) So all in all, I would take the jump because if it is as good as mine is, you will LOVE it, and if it gets damaged like the other gentleman's on here, then you can always send it back for reimbursement or exchange.

This was a very inexpensive boombox. It sits discreetly on my desk and allows me to listen to my favorite CDs without disturbing my co-workers. I've used the radio and the CD player - and plan to bring my old casette tapes to work since I don't listen to them anywhere else. I'm very pleased with my purchase!

I purchased this boom box several years ago and it is still holding up very well. Also, I got it at Target for 30 dollars, which to me was very inexpensive. This is very useful because it plays CDs, tapes, and also has both an AM and FM radio. It also has a spot for headphones. This is a very good buy!

The CD player did not work from day 1. The songs have "dead spots" in them. There is no antenna to raise for better radio reception, either.

The sound quality is that of a transistor radio.The buttons for the tape recorder don't even say what they are for. It is much smaller then it appears on the ad. The worth is about $5.00, save your money!

This is an Audiovox product which will not last long. It has a lot of features that were taken from RCA products, but it does not have the same electronics, which is the heart of the system. You can expect this product to last the life of the warrenty and then some part of it will stop functioning correctly and it will become junk. Do not expect any customer support from the Audiovox "customer service" people. You will get mis-directions, excuses, poor response time, and of course RUDENESS from their representatives. I would avoid buying any Audiovox product. It is a shame that GE moved RCA product repair to Audiovox. Excellent products should never be given to under achievers for repair. Remember Audiovox is about the sale of the product and not the customer's satisfaction with the product.

I bought this for my husband two years ago, and it still works well. My husband mainly uses this when he's working throughout the house. It gives good sound for the size and price.

The only reason I didn't gave 5 star is because I would love to see this boombox playing mp3 format.....that would have been awesome....

Otherwise ...it sound great....easy to use......compact size...good for your kitchen, patio, or bathroom for that matter......

sure it seems cheap with lots of features. save your money. the am fm is useless. its the old fashioned wheel, not digital. thats not even the issue though. you cannot get stations. even local stations that are 50,000 watts of power dont hardly come in.

the cd skips on occassion and the tape looses sound in spots. the stereo sound is akin to a transistor radio.

in short, i am throwing it out. its not worth 5 dollars. you get what you pay for. go for something else.
