4.0 out of 5 stars Good Little Stereo
I bought one of these for each of my daughters to have in their room. It's just the right thing for them. The sound quality is quite acceptable (I only played classical on it). I did not "crank it up" but there is no noticeable distortion at listening levels that won't bother my daughters' parents (me). It does not have seperate treble and bass controls as...

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk!
I wish there was a no star rating because that is exactly what this product deserves! The item was completely broken!! The CD player on it did not work and the cables that connect the speakers had been cut! I was completely unsatisfied with the product! It was the biggest piece of junk I have ever wasted my money on!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Little Stereo, November 17, 2000

This review is from: Audiovox CE304R Micro Portable Component System with AM/FM Stereo Radio, CD, Cassette & Remote (Electronics)
I bought one of these for each of my daughters to have in their room. It's just the right thing for them. The sound quality is quite acceptable (I only played classical on it). I did not "crank it up" but there is no noticeable distortion at listening levels that won't bother my daughters' parents (me). It does not have seperate treble and bass controls as indicated, only a tone control switch (hi/lo) which seems to be simply a high filter. The CD player played a bad CD with only one slight skip. The whole thing has a good appearance and does not look cheap. Overall a good functional design for low-leveling or background listening. The FM tuner had no problem picking up stereo stations with the antenna down.

For the price, it is a nice enough unit. Two problems in the description - tone is only a switch as previously mentioned. There is also no Mike input jack.

4.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and durable for music fans on a budget, January 7, 2002

This review is from: Audiovox CE304R Micro Portable Component System with AM/FM Stereo Radio, CD, Cassette & Remote (Electronics)
This is a surprisingly decent little piece of sound equipment. The system is light and compact, but puts out a good bit of volume. Dials and buttons are all clear and accessible, and the remote works from a good distance away. The sound quality isn't ideal, but for the price it can't be beat. Good for dorm rooms or small office spaces.

I bought this CD player for my kids play loft. It has been a great value. The price is certainly great, JUST IN CASE WE HAVE AN ACCIDENT. The sound quality is much better than you would expect from any system under a hundred dollars. While the kids are playing or napping I have the radio tuned to the local classical station. It is very enjoyable for the entire family. I certainly recommend this player to anyone looking for a low priced quality system.
