5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wxtra money
I wanted an XM radio for the longest time. I opted for the Audiovox Xpress RC model with the home dock. It was well worth the extra money I spent on the Xpress and the Home dock. Now I have XM at my disposal in the car and in my home. It's so easy to transfer from the home to the car. I LOVE IT!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Item Didn't Work, Horrible Customer Service
This item worked well for a couple of weeks before the AUDIO OUT receptacle stopped producing a signal. The radio still received power, and the radio received a signal from the antenna, and the audio cable worked when tested with other devices. I returned the cradle to Audiovox since the source of the problem is apparently the AUDIO OUT receptacle on that component. I...

Works perfectly. The signal with this antenna seems stronger then the antenna that came with the radio. I have this unit at my desk at work, no where near a window, and it gets pretty good reception. I'm thinking about getting one for my house too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yay! Hooked up to XM and rockin out!, December 23, 2007

So, i wasn't exactly thrilled when i purchased this. Only because i had received a free XM radio from another site i participate in, and i was told that i was getting the roady.

Well i decided that i would stick with what i had won and i would buy the home adapter for use with my tv. I purchased this shortly after and hooked it up. I am very happy that i did.

Pros - Small, not huge and clunky
- Sleek design
- Light weight!
- Fits on my tv top
Cons
- Limited mobility due to the antennae

Overall, im very happy i received the radio, and even happier that i bought the home kit. After Christmas i plan to buy a new receiver and a home kit setup so that my current receiver can be put into my car.

1.0 out of 5 stars Item Didn't Work, Horrible Customer Service, May 20, 2008

This item worked well for a couple of weeks before the AUDIO OUT receptacle stopped producing a signal. The radio still received power, and the radio received a signal from the antenna, and the audio cable worked when tested with other devices. I returned the cradle to Audiovox since the source of the problem is apparently the AUDIO OUT receptacle on that component. I quickly received a cradle back from Audiovox (probably the same unit that I sent to them, but I didn't note the serial number). Once again, the radio received power and a good signal, but no AUDIO OUT signal was produced from the cradle. I sent the entire kit back to Audiovox and after waiting for a couple of weeks, I called to ask about the status. Right off the bat, I received a lecture that they wouldn't continue to send me new components since their testing showed that the item worked. I was told that my radio could be the problem and that any future returns should include my radio in order to fully test the problem. The person I spoke with couldn't A) confirm that their testing included the AUDIO OUT receptacle, and B) explain how it is that my potentially flawed radio works fine when using other cradles. I was holding off on reviewing this product until I received this second replacement, thinking that I will ultimately receive a unit that I'm happy with. After this recent customer service experience, I wish I hadn't made this purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed, no longer FM inside., April 7, 2010
This review is from: Audiovox Car XMH10A Xpress Home Kit (Electronics)
Buyers need to know -- used to be these radios could be used indoors, and they rebroadcast an okay FM signal so we could pick up the station on any FM radio in the small house, as they do in the car. That was very cool. We had our XM antenna and the old XM2GO unit near a satisfactory south window, and the broadcast it to our tuner/receiver, in the center of the home, on a good clear frequency. Other FM radios in the house could pick up the signal also, on a good day. (The old XM2GO unit is no longer working well, battery I think, and is no longer supported.)

Now XM has changed the product and it seems the ExpressRC unit does not broadcast an FM signal from the home dock. Or so I am told by the lady in Bangladesh. Evidently you MUST plug the home dock into the component (receiver) with audio cables. This means, in turn, you must run either the antenna cable some distance (and there's not enough of it here), and string it through the house and doors, or maybe get a very long audio cable and run it across the room..

The FM scheme was better for the customer, I think. There may be some technical reason they had to change it (interference with other devices?); or it is just greedy business (buy more XM radios, or buy the antenna repeater, or pay far too much for an antenna extension which still looks shabby strung across the house). Likely I will experiment with the repeater.

Tomorrow however, first, I will TRY to see if the FM thing still works from the home dock, at least in one room and line of sight. If this works I will post an updated review. If no such review, it's not working. Tom

3.0 out of 5 stars Refurbished - I'm satisfied for the price, June 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Audiovox Car XMH10A Xpress Home Kit (Electronics)
I rated this 3 stars because it is a very easy to use setup and is a very good value (a steal for the price I got it for). I am not sure if every single unit does this, but I bought mine refurbished and when you plug it in it makes an annoying squeal the entire time. It can be tuned out by turning the music up on your stereo. The only complaint I have is that I really like to listen to music quietly as I fall asleep and the squeal is too loud to be able to do that. Also, the adapter continues to squeal when it is plugged in (even with the unit turned off) so after use I have to unplug it.

Product works great and easy to set up. Antenna is powerful enough there is no need to install at a window. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great for the ONYX!, January 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Audiovox Car XMH10A Xpress Home Kit (Electronics)
Bought this for my new ONYX XM radio and it works great! Was a little tricky to get the signal facing north in a window but after moving it around the window to a few places it now works great. Radioshack sold me the SUPH1 Universal Dock and Play Home Kit and it does not work even though the package said it would work for XM and Sirius radios, so I had to return it and buy this one.

Very satisfied with my purchase and the prompt shipment. My order arrived even sooner than the delivery date specified! The home kit enabled me to enjoy my new Xm Radio gift well before I was able to use it in the car. There were no surprises with the purchase. The product was exactly as described and new in the original retail packaging. The price was competitive, adding to the value.
