Audiovox's slender, silver D1812 portable DVD player features an 8-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD designed to match the image dimensions of your favorite movies. It's compatible with DVD-Video, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded music discs. You can even enjoy an onscreen slideshow of your cherished digital photos from recordable CDs filled with JPEG image files. The player comes with switchable audio/video input/output jacks, letting you use it on the road for monitoring camcorder footage or gaming devices, or in the home as a high-quality video source device using the supplied AV cables.

The D1812 also comes with an AC adapter and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides around 2 hours of playback (power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc). Perfect for road use, D1812 includes a vehicle DC power adapter so you can save batteries on long trips. Listen through the unit's built-in stereo speakers or through headphones (not included). I had this unit as a gift from my brother. Its been over a year now and had no problem with it what so ever. I use it almost everyday specially when i'm in bed and it is working just fine even with my back-up movies and my mp3 CDs. the battary can almost playes two movies or a one three hours movie when its fully charged. I even dropped it coupl times thnking there is no way its gonna work again but it suprised me. the down side of it is the sound quality comming from the built-in speakers which is a common thing in all Portable DVD players and for some reason the bottom of the player heats up and gets warm. I dont know if the same thing happens in all Portable DVD players or not. otherwise this is a good unit to invest your money in.

My daughter received this DVD player Christmas 2005. It seemed to work just fine for a few months. Then, one day it just seemed to be in an eternal "Loading" position. I bought a name brand DVD lens cleaner to see if that would rectify the problem. It did not. Thus, it is "loading".

I purchased two of these DVD players and both of them have stopped working. My daughters used them each about 6 times on long road trips so they are like new. However, the last time we tried to use them, the DVDs would not load. You can actually hear the motor grinding and grinding. What a rip off! Audiovox will fix them for $93.00 each. I already spent close to $400 for two pieces of junk! Anyone ever try to report businesses like this to The Better Business Bureau or anything?
