Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Combining a digital camcorder, digital camera, digital voice recorder, and MP3 player--among other things--into a single device, the Audiovox DC600DS makes a handy all-in-one travel companion. The camera stands ready to deliver high-quality pictures in any situation, with a 5.0-megapixel resolution and such features as autofocus, a 4x digital zoom, and a built-in flash (with auto, red-eye, and off modes) for low-light situations. Photographers can also choose among several visual effects--including negative, black and white, sepia, mosaic, solarize, and pastel--to give their photos a little extra style. Add in a swiveling 2.5-inch TFT LCD display that's viewable even in bright sunlight and you're ready to roll.

When you're not capturing footage, you can listen to your favorite songs on the DC600DS's built-in MP3 player. The device comes with a 32 MB MMC memory card for storing music, photos, and other data, but is also expandable up to 1 GB for serious music and photo storage. Plus, it can hold non-media files as well, such as text files, Excel docs, and more. Simply transfer the files from a PC to the camera via the USB port and you're set. The USB storage option is particularly convenient when you're at a friend's house and need a quick and easy way to grab a file or photo. The plug-and-play DC600DS does require a Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, and XP operating system, however.

Finally, the device can record voices on its digital voice recorder or play back video when connected to a TV. And it's loaded with extras, including a docking/charging station, a rechargeable lithium ion battery, a USB cable, a lens cover, a camera bag, a tripod, and more. The Audiovox DC600DS measures a compact 3.3 by 2.1 by 3.7 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty.

What's in the Box
DC600DS camera, docking/charging station, USB cable, rechargeable lithium ion battery, 32 MB MMC card, lens cover, camera bag, tripod, software CD, A/V cable, two carrying straps, user's manual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!!!, November 23, 2007

I've had this for just about 1.5 years...I only have one problem with it, (which really isn't a problem for the money I paid for it, it actually exceeded all my expectations of it.) it has a nightvision feature you can turn on or off in the menu, but I don't see how it works. Maybe I'm thinking it would have that black light the shows you all images even in the dark like I've seen other Camcorders have, but that's the only thing I would say in the negative about this product. Or maybe, I just didn't use it correctly..still tweaking with it though....Great on the go and for quick video in or outside...You'll love it!

2.0 out of 5 stars i don't like it, October 11, 2009
This review is from: Audiovox DC600DS 7-in-1 Multifunction Digital Camera with 2.5-Inch LCD and Docking/Charging Station (Electronics)
I've had this camera for almost 3 years. For some reason, I was attracted to all of the features and low price. I wish I had done more research. Video is okay. not good when it's dark. It's a little bulky and feels poorly built. It does not have a 5 mega pixel camera like it states. It's more like 2.5. The zoom is also very choppy. If it get's too hot or cold outside, it won't work. The sound is bad since you can hear the internal parts of the camera working when you play it back. All in all. It was I mistake I learned from. I've done my research, and Soon I'll be getting a much better camera that I'm not embarrassed to carry around.

This was a gift for my son who was 11 when he got it. He used it constantly and was very happy with it. He took it on vacation with us and would not stop taping. Unfortunately, it just gave out after about 10 months of use. I have no idea why. It just will not stay on. We have changed batteries and tried charging it different ways. My suggestion is, if you cannot get this at a very low price, go find something else. A V-Cam is probably better quality.
