The install was quick, the disassembly of the dashboard on the wife's 2008 Dodge GrandCaravan SXT was a challenge. Device works great....truly plug and play!

Installed in less than 10 minutes. Came pre-programmed for my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. Easy to sync.
Love it!

The product is fine. However, the buying experience through a dealer here (Amazon fulfilment) was a major disappointment.

I knew going in the item required programing, and expected an extra step to get that done, what I didn't anticipate was having the dealer telling me "we don't do that" (paraphrasing) and offering a minor monetary solution. Undaunted I contacted Audiovox (Voxx) customer service. I was given a few retailers who could possibly program the device. The first one stated, sorry no longer a retailer. Second one would have to get back with me (I'm still waiting.) At this point I'm heading 30+ miles away to have this programmed and at an additional cost for the service. I made the decision to return the item rather than make a sixty plus mile round trip. Repurchased from a dealer who can program at the point of purchase.

Pros:
Works well, no additional fob needed.

it can be installed by the owner if you're willing to be patient, search for tips and videos outlining the general use and function of the item and specifics for disassembly of your vehicle to the extent need to reach the ignition switch wiring.

No modification to any factory wires, connectors, or system.

Cons:

My Amazon dealer had no way to service my purchase and turn the item into a usable, functional unit.

Audiovox apparently doesn't have accurate information on their dealers. And in my case (So Cal) a very weak dealer network. I'm somewhat apprehensive how service or warranty work will be handled if the need arises.

There very well maybe additional expense in having the unit programmed. Either by a dealer or purchasing the cable and attempting yourself.

I purchased this item from another reseller, but figured I would share my experience installing this in my 2012 Durango. First off, this thing is extremely simple to install, once you figure out which item is defined in the instructions. I didn't use 1/2 the items in the box for my install.

To install this in a 2012 Durango, you must first remove the foot shield fabric, then unscrew roughly four screws that hold the knee shield in place. After that, you need to pry off the steering wheel skirt, and pull it up so you can get to two other screws holding the knee shield on. After you remove that, on the right side, there is a little piece of plastic (8 inches by 4 inches) that will pop off, and reveal more screws. Once you remove all the screws necessary to remove the knee shield, there is also a piece of steel held in by 4 screws, remove this. Behind the piece of steel, on the right side, there is an odd shaped piece of steel that you will need to remove to get to the ignition module. This oddly shaped piece of steel is a pain to get off, and even more of a pain to get back on. There are two screws holding it in, as well as a screw behind the steering wheel you will need to remove. Good luck getting the one behind the steering wheel back in. Back to the ignition module, this module is way up directly behind where you would put the key in. You will need to wedge your hand way up, and disconnect the wire, connect it to one side of the T wire, and plug the other T-wire in to the module. Make sure all the electrical gadgets are plugged in (included in the box) prior to connecting it to the Ignition module.

I work as an IT manager, I've run electrical for subs in many of my cars (when I was young).
