5.0 out of 5 stars Motorcycle riders, you're gunna love this!
The headset fits behind your head, not over the top, so it fits well with a helmet. The FM radio will shut down when there is a incoming signal from another radio, so you can ride and listen to tunes, plus still be monitoring for another biker to talk! 2 mile range, and it holds up to high speed well, without wind causing the VOX to key. I use it on my Goldwing. I can...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for every motorcyclist...
I purchased two of these to use as motorcycle intercoms. I figured that at $15.00 each I couldn't make too much of a mistake. Well, as far as motorcycle intercoms go, it was a BIG mistake! The headsets, even though they fit behind the head, were impossible to use under my motorcycle helmet. Granted, these might work well with a helmet that does not cover the ears, but...

I use it on my Goldwing. I can talk to a passenger or to other bikes. Systems like this made for bikes cost mega $$$$. This is a good, cheap alternative with added features. I suggest you get two.
Good sound, loud enough and the batteries last. I've recommended it to our club.
Now, if we could just get all bikers to agree on a specific channel to stay on..... (LOL)

4.0 out of 5 stars Short Range Connectivity, August 2, 2005
This review is from: Audiovox GMRS-WP1 2-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio (Includes Headset) (Electronics)
Nice little radio some of the bottons are way too busy, like function keys on a calculator but hey thats miniturization for you. Make smaller things do more with less. Other than that very good for short distance communication such as between motorcycles on organized runs.

Granted, these might work well with a helmet that does not cover the ears, but with the full-face helmet that I use there was no way to make them work. Just too thick to fit between my ear and the helmet.

The units work fine and are as inexpensive a radio as you can purchase. Just don't purchase for motorcycle use unless you have a helmet that will allow PLENTY of room for the ear-pieces to fit.
