This model is for those of you who like the features of the Audiovox GMRS1200 2- way radio, but want the convenience of recharging your radio via a wall adaptor. Yes, you still receive the same GMRS 1200 radio. Yes, you receive the five mile range, the emergency channel, the hands free capability, the full time controls and the full electronic controls. You receive all this plus the wall adaptor and four AAA NiMH batteries. If you use the throw-away alkaline batteries you'll get fourteen to thirty hours of operation, a bit less with the NiMH batteries. Don't forget you'll need a FCC license to work with this sort of operating range. The unit is small, compact and modern looking. Overall, this is a simple product with the expanded capability of wall charging.
