I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with factory installed Honda RES. I looked for options to replace my OEM Honda wireless headphones that have a flimsy plastic strip that is used for head size adjustment. The strip on the Honda headphones had ripped on 3 sets of headphones now.

I tried out these Audiovox headphones because they were pretty compact like my Honda originals, had a better design for head size adjustment, and this new model folds flat because the ear pieces pivot. They worked great right out of the box, and $30 a piece beats $80 for replacing the originals from Honda! Time will tell about battery life, etc. but first impression is great.

My kids are brutal with our stuff - drives me crazy. We have a 2006 Odyssey and a 2007 MDX. I have bought Honda replacement headsets for 120 off ebay which my kids promptly trash after 4 months. It was either get rid of the kids or buy new headphones. Believe me, it wasn't an easy decision. So we opted for the headphones but I'd be da**ed if I was going to pay 120 per headset (3x). So I "settled" on these baby's figuring if they trashed these, I wouldn't be as pissed. Surprisingly, they have turned out to be great headsets - better than the originals. The sound is clearer, the range is better and it seems like they don't have to be pointed exactly at the unit to still get quality sound. Another advantage is that you can put 2 AA batteries in the sets vs. 1 one the OEMs. As an other reviewer pointed out, you do have to have the kids turn off the power button after use, but my kids are good about this ever since I put their names on the headsets and made a rule that your batteries can only be changed once a month. They are definitely comfortable for my kids ages 7, 11 and 13.

Had these for about a month. We'll see how they survive our family.

I purchased this product to replace one of the headsets that came with my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. I did a lot of research prior to the purchase, but still had my fingers crossed when they arrived because I could not find any reviews that confirmed they worked with the Grand Caravan stereo. I'm happy to report they work great!

Update and Comparison (March 2012):

We take long trips in the van and need to keep the kids happy. The kids hate one type of headphones we bought, so we bought one of these to try out. Here is how the Audiovox model compares to the other two we have owned for a long time. On all the ratings, the higher number indicates better performance.

XO Vision IR620:

Comfort - 5
Sound Quality - 4
Volume - 3
Noise - 5 This model had the least noise
Power - Automatic Power Off
Cost - 5 ($15)

Audiovox IR1CFF:

Comfort - 4
Sound Quality - 4.5
Volume - 4
Noise - 4
Power - Automatic Power Off
Cost - 3 ($30)

Valor Multimedia ACC-HP2:

Comfort - 3
Sound Quality - 2.5
Volume - 5
Noise - 2 The most noise of all three by far
Power - Automatic Power Off by way of a pressure switch in one ear piece.
Cost - 4.5 ($18)

The kids like the Audivox and XO Vision headphones while the Valor models sit and collect dust. All three of the listed headphones fit our kids.

Best Choices:

XO Vision: It produces a good sound for movies, but many may tend to run the volume up about all the way for normal use. This can vary depending on the volume level of the media you are watching. They are comfortable and also smaller and lighter than the Audiovox. When I say smaller, I don't mean to fit smaller heads. They are smaller speakers and ear pads which is a more modern looking style. This is why they are also lighter. Other than that, the Audiovox and XO Vision look to be the same exact frame that goes over the head. I'll see about posting pictures later to show the similarities and differences.

we have an audiovox dvd player in the car. after many hours of headphone use, the kids wear out and break the ones we have (stepped on, stretched out, etc). I have been searching to find replacement headphones, since Circuit City went out of business. these headphones are similar to the ones we had, however they actually turned out to be nicer. they fold flat, so that should help with some of our breakage issues. Additionally the ear covers seem to be better material and softer. They work great. good clear sound. Best of all, they were considerably less expensive than the other ones we have been purchasing in the past. Overall, a good quality headphone for the kids to use for the car dvd player.

Product works as expected. I"m using it with an Audiovox Movies to go universal headrest DVD player. It will work with the master monitor, Channel A only. I had to order a IR2CFF for the 2nd monitor. My mistake for not reading my owners manual.
The Headphones are comfortable.

We have a 2005 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with factory installed DVD system.
I have bought OEM models before from eBay and they were ok. However, I thought I would give these a try.
They are MUCH better quality than OEM and they work just fine.
The fold flat design is very nice for putting them in the pockets on the back of the seats.
Easy to adjust, comfortable, and much better design.
