This little unit did a fine job -- for almost 2 weeks, then it failed.

We recently cut our ties with DirecTV and just went with over the air digital signal. The RCA outdoor antenna worked great, but occasionally the picture pixelated. Having read reviews and experiences of others, I bought this signal amplifier and was blown away by the difference this little device made. We had very good HD quality, but this made it even better AND we found 4 more stations that we weren't getting previous to using this.

Better picture, no pixelation and more channels! Great Deal!

This gadget did not make any change to the signal whether it was switched on or off.

Worked well for splitting cable tv, but remember you must use a bidirectional splitter at least 2GZ. Do not use an inexpensive splitter; otherwise you will not get results. Cheap splitters leak signals that interfere with others. As far as antennas are concerned, you can only amplyfy what you receive clearly. If the signal is not clear, this will not make the signal cleaner. All you will do is amplify a bad static signal. This product works well with faint clear signals. However, the only way you can sometimes tell if the faint signal is clear is by trial.

I recieved the 12 db power unit instead of the 10 db, which is OK with me. In my situation this device helped by improving the reception with my HD tuner. However the difference in not extreme, but it is an appreciable difference that makes the TV much more watchable. I actually use two of these devices, one in the attic near the attenna, an another on the other end of the cable, on the ground floor near the TV. The result is that the TV is watchable and recieves most of the local channels. These devices are not expensive but the help they provided really made a difference in my installation.

I dropped my DirecTV and put up a manual antenna outside.
I could only receive 4 weak channels that were hard to view
due to the pixel separation being so bad.

I ordered this RCA VH100N signal amplifier with 10dB Gain.
Boy, what a difference! All 4 channels crystal clear with
perfect reception. It didn't bring in any new channels but
it certainly did wonders for the 4 channels I have. I am
more than 40 miles from the nearest television station.
It works for me!! I am happy with it.

I bought this with the hope of boosting the signal from my large attic-mounted outdoor aerial antenna. I have a 3-way splitter sending the signal to the TVs in the house. My house is ~30 miles from the antennas on South Mountain with clear line of sight. Things were fine before June 2009, but since the digital changeover a few of the Phoenix channels (12, 15, 45, 51, 61) have become weak and sporadic (available one day, not the next). One of my TVs has a signal meter. It read "75" before I installed the booster, and "67" was the best I could get after I put it inline between the antenna and the 3-way splitter. Since installing the booster I no longer get 12.1 (or subchannels) on one TV, and cannot get 15.1 (or subchannels) on the others. On all TVs channel 45.1 and it's subchannels stutter as if half of the digital bits are coming through.

This RCA antenna amp works well for longer cable runs. If your coax is over 25 feet you will start losing signal with the cable. This amp will help maintain the TV signal.

This unit helped me gain a pretty good amount of signal strength. It increased the signal strength by 10%, which helped me receive two more channels and reduced the choppiness on others. This is a good unit if you want to improve your signal quality. Not 5 stars because of build quality.
