8.5-Inch Monitor With Built-In DVD Player
The VOD86 boasts an 8.5-inch TFT (Thin Film Transistor) Active Matrix LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor, ensuring a great picture no matter your video source. Easily select standard (4:3) or widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio and control picture quality and other functions via the multi-lingual on-screen display. NTSC and PAL video sources are automatically detected, so plug most devices into one of the two source inputs and you'll be set for a fun ride.
You can also play back your favorite CDs, or even MP3 data CDs chock full of your favorite tunes.

The built-in DVD Player will turn on automatically with disc insertion, making it easy to get the entertainment underway. Even after making a stop, the movie will pick up right where you left off thanks to the DVD player's last-position memory. If a quick interruption is necessary, just use the A/V mute button.
A/V Inputs
Two audio/video source inputs are included for attaching external devices like video game systems, video cameras, and more.
An A/V output is also included for system expansion, if you'd like to add an additional monitor.
Wireless Headphones
The VOD86 includes a built-in infrared transmitter for use with the two supplied wireless headphones. The headphone volume is adjusted independently, using the controls on each headset.
Any number of wireless headphones may be used but they must be used within a line of sight from the transmitter, as infrared transmissions, like visible light travel only in a straight line.
Wireless Remote
A full-function wireless remote is also included for easy control of your device without reaching for the roof.
Dome Lights
The VOD86 features dome lights with a built-in three-way switch for interior lighting.

Common Problems with this brand,

I didn't buy this exact model, but I bought a Jensen/Audiovox Overhead DVD player from Circuit City and had them install it. Installation was free and cost of the DVD player was over $500. 16 months after purchase, the screen stopped displaying image. Google search revealed that many... MANY of these Jensen/Audiovox DVD players have a faulty ribbon wire connecting the DVD player to the screen. I contacted Audiovox and they flat out told me tough luck. I mentioned to them that I came across numerous complaints identical to mine where the screen stopped working (actually, it goes white) 14 months or more after purchase (conveniently a few months after warrantee runs out), and the ONLY solution they gave me was to send it in to them with a check for $149 and they would repair it. I raised about as much fuss as I could asking to speak to supervisors and how can I file a complaint and how can they expect me to spend another $149 when I spent over $500 just 16 months ago... of course they couldn't care less. They wouldn't even sell me a replacement ribbon cable. The only option was to drop another $149 for them to replace a $5 ribbon cable.I give it two stars because while it worked, it was acceptable. So, BEWARE. From what I've read and from my own experience, a Jensen/Audiovox DVD is going to last you about a year before you need to spend a considerable amount to get it repaired. I should have just gone with a $100 disposable brand and planned on replacing it once a year. That's right Audiovox, I'm comparing you to the disposable brands. At least they price themselves appropriately. Audiovox could learn a thing or two from those companies whom I respect for pricing their product according to their actual value.

Ordered the Audiovox VOD86 to replace a non-working Rosen A7 overhead DVD system.Having both the Shale (Tan) and Pewter (Grey) covers included was a nice feature The remote had a few more buttons than necessary but seemed good quality If your looking for a name brand DVD system you should check this one out The price sure is great!
