I had high expectations and so far I'm satisfied but slightly underwhelmed given the glowing reviews by others. (This is no fault of the product -- it does perform as advertised by Audiovox.) I'm listening through a Pioneer XMp3. The sound quality is good -- as in noticeably better than a cheap set of computer speakers -- but not amazing. Contrary to what others are claiming I doubt anyone at Bose is losing sleep over this system, although I admit I've never heard a Wave sound system and maybe my expectations are too high there as well. Sound clarity is good, the highs are good but the bass is weaker than I had hoped and overall the tone isn't that great. You can't adjust the tone either.

I've flipped through a lot of different kinds of music with it: classical and blue grass sound good, but rock and hip hop are just ok.

I think if you have a crummy radio or a cheap iPod dock this will be a significant upgrade and you'll be impressed. On the other hand, if you've read all the other reviews and are expecting it to sound like a mini version of your high-end stereo system, you'll likely be disappointed.

It's a good box and a decent value for the money. As usual, you get what you pay for, and in this case that means something better than your alarm clock but not as nice as your stereo.

OK, so this is not a BOSE unit. You can tell because it says Audiovox on it. So don't expect a BOSE sound system. That said, this is a nice little system. I even bought two. We have one in our office and one in our kitchen. They provide nice background music, and if we need to party down a little, they sound good turned up as well. If you want something to push your wineglass off the table as you sit there, better go with something else, but if you just want a portable sound system for your XM radio, this is a great option.

I purchased this primarily because of the looks and didn't really have a chance to hear the sound quality prior to buying. Boy was I pleasantly surprised with the huge sound produced by this little thing. I really only expected just so-so sound from this unit. I have a "wave" radio and the XMAS100 must have similar technology because it sounds really close to the "wave". They should add a radio to this and it would sell really well I think.

After doing quite a bit of research on different models, I decided to buy this for my fiance. Basically he wanted something to plug his XM radio into so he could listen to it inside the house / garage. The sound quality is good for the price. The only real problem is getting the antenna to receive signal from the satellite. We are thinking of buying a signal repeater to deal with this problem.

If you want sound as good as a 1960 AM transistor radio, get a 1960 AM transistor radio. It will be better than the sound that comes out of this unit. I was so disappointed. There was no treble, only a muted bass sound. And there was no way to adjust the tone. If you want to be able to hear the whole song, the highs and lows, buy something else. You won't hear them here. I bought this item as a result of the other reviews, many of which said this unit sounded as good as a Bose. If this is what Bose sounds like I won't be buying that either. It was packed up and heading back in under 2 hours.

This docking station really puts out, if a tad lacking in high end. The bottom is certainly there and the antenna has a generous cord for locating signal. We've taken it on the road in luggage a time or two and it comes home still performing. It reminds me of a Bose unit in its compact size and big sound. It has outputs for connection to my stereo system, making it even bigger and "EQ-able".

My girlfriend bought me a portable Sirius/XM receiver for my car, and I was interested in using it in the house as well. This little sound system has served the purpose very well, and sounds great. As others have said it isn't Bose, but it is still very good and an excellent value. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to review this item, as it helped me make a selection with which I am very happy.

This item worked fine for about one week then it started saying check atenna. I checked and made sure the atenna was connected but it still said check the atenna.

This Is A Great Sound System, Good Sound, Great Remote, Nice Looking On Desk, That Is Why I Gave It Five Stars

I received this as a gift for Christmas. I didn't receive a gift receipt with it. (It was purchased through Amazon.) For a week or so, it worked great, then, all of a sudden, every time it was turned on, I got a message saying it couldn't connect to the antenna.

I moved the antenna, plugged it in, unplugged it, nothing worked. [...]
