5.0 out of 5 stars A necessity
I have 2 after market XM radios, 1 in my car and 1 in my wife's car. The radio transmits on an FM frequency and the quality received by the car stereo is poor at best. After troubleshooting with XM, they claimed I was supposed to receive this SureConnect free when I purchased the radio. I did not and they were not about to replace the one I did not receive. Easy enough to install...depending on where your antennae is located...and assuming you're mechanically competent. My attennae is on the roof...on the back of the car. This means to have a reasonably clean installation, I had to raise the weather stripping around the rear glass and tape (yuck) the wire along the top edge of the glass next to the roof. Running the wire...

Since my Delphi Roady XT was completely worthless without, I decided to buy the SureConnect. It is very easy to install and really improves the quality. I cannot believe how good the XM sounds over an FM frequency now that I have SureConnect. XM customer service is impossible to work with. They charge $10 for the same product, but $13 for the cheapest shipping option. I reccommend buying from Amazon.

Running the wire under the rear seat to through the carpet was the easy part. In terms of reception, it's just "ok". I don't have the cleanest reception (some static...and LA seems to have a radio station on just about every frequency), but it is better than other FM modulators I've used. It is definitely not as clear as the factory-installed XM radio on my wife's car (she won't even listen to it when she drives my car) and it is particularly frustrating when I lose my signal and start hearing someone else's (wonder which FM modulator they have?). I'm ready to try something else.

Works good. I use it in a big truck and my radio antenna in a 08 Volvo is a C.B. antenna And it fits around it. If it was for my personal vehicle. I would buy the one with the box that hooks into your antenna cable behind your radio

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent signal enhancer!!!, May 5, 2008
This review is from: Audiovox XMSC1 Sureconnect Adapter for Xpress-R Xm Satellite Radio (Electronics)
This worked fantastic when I moved my Express EZ from my main vehicle with auxillary input to a vehicle where I had to use the FM transmitter. connecting this up and sliding it over the antenna provided great, crackle free reception on an open FM channel. Well worth the small investment if you do not have this for your car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sure Connect Sure Works, April 4, 2008

From previous reviews, glad I got this for the XM. Easy to install and the reception is clear. I didn't use the adhesive they provided but used some sticky electrical tape. That way I can remove it when I want.

This is a great accessory for your XM radio. I don't have it factory installed in my car. I have a portable unit and this helps me connect without hard wiring.

4.0 out of 5 stars As advertised, December 19, 2009

I bought this for my second car and already had one installed on my primary car that came with the XM reciever that I had bought. This seemed equal in quality to the one that I already had and works fine. Previous experience without this was constantly changing frequencies due to local station interference as I traveled. With this, I almost never have to change frequencies.

We were having a terrible problem listening to XM radio in the car because of station interference. I bought this product after consulting with customer service at XM. This product is wonderful. After installing, which was a breeze, we no longer have any problem listening to the XM stations in the car.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thanks FCC, January 28, 2009
This review is from: Audiovox XMSC1 Sureconnect Adapter for Xpress-R Xm Satellite Radio (Electronics)
While this product does somewhat do what it is designed for it is in no way even close to the same quality signal the older radios put out with their built in FM transmitters. Either hard wire or use a cassette adapter

XMserius did not mention that the XpressR radio needs additional hardware to get the Car Kit to work, if you don't have a cassette player. I ordered the sure connect, connected it per the instructions and now my radio tells me that no antenna is connected. If I connect the XM radio antenna directly into the radio, it does recognize the antenna, but it will not recognize the antenna when connected thru the Sureconnect.
