"...superb reference addresses the full range of responsibilities of an audit committee, including new requirements under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002." (Vincent J. Love, CPA, The CPA Journal) --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

From the Inside Flap

Excerpt from the foreword to the second edition:

"Members of audit committees will find this second edition an invaluable resource in meeting their oversight responsibilities and give them an increasing awareness of their current duties as well as an insight into future developments."--(Richard S. Hickok, CPA Chairman, Hickok Associates, Inc., And Chairman Emeritus of KMG/Main Hurdman [now KPMG Peat Marwick])

With this latest edition of an always-useful book, which I highly recommend as a worthwhile edition to any professional library, the standard by which all audit committees are judged has taken a sharp upward turn.--(Vincent J. Love, CPA, The CPA Journal)

The Audit Committee Handbook, Third Edition remains the world^A,s best book on audit committees-and is likely to continue on this perch for years to come.--(Alexandra R. Lajoux, Ph.D.,Director^A,s Monthly)

As a handbook, it is a reference source that belongs on the shelves of current and prospective audit committee members, among other interested parties.--(Robert Bloom, Corporate Controller)

My opinion of the text is that it is an excellent source manual for understanding the responsibilities associated with work on, or the direction of audit committees.--(Mark S. Glochowski, MBA, National Public Accountant) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I have been a board member for 19 years - mostly on audit committees. This is surely one of the best book I have read. Although some contents are repeated several times - the author could have saved 50+ pages - this resource is surely a good reference material for any board member.
