From School Library Journal
Grade 6 Up–For students and teachers in search of original material for auditions, classroom performances, and writing exercises, this work presents a wide variety of scenes selected especially for performers aged 12 to 24. Varying in length, the scenes invite interpretation and editing and offer unusual challenges. All the scenes are from previously performed though unpublished works and were collected through writer's organizations, international drama festivals, and theaters with new-plays programs. Contact information for each author is included should a student desire a copy of the entire work, though Ellis admits that the addresses will go out of date as authors move or change agents. Introductions to each scene are informative and were reviewed and approved with some reshaping by the authors. All lines are numbered for ease of reference. A good choice for students who seek new ideas for drama, forensic, and writing classes.
