Most Helpful Customer Reviews

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Gerard D. Launay on September 21, 2010
Format: Hardcover
There are some absolutely stunning photos of the actress in this book...and that is the only reason to buy it. The commentary is uninspired, but a fair review of her life. It covers just the basics - her birth in Belgium, her hunger during World War II, her formal experience in ballet, her discovery by "Colette" for the play - GIGI, her breakthrough role (in Hollywood) with Gregory Peck for "Roman Holiday", the marriage and divorce with Mel Ferrer, the critical acclaim for "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "My Fair Lady". But...alas...every subject is treated as just a sketch.

Fans of this book's pictures will "definitely" want to look at "Audrey 100" which contains photographs from the family collections.
Given the choice of the two books, I would opt for the latter.
