I've been buying the Audubon engagement calendars for 6 or 7 years, primarily because I like the page format. And the pictures (not just birds but various wildlife and nature shots). There's plenty of room for me to note my appointments and other important dates, and I like that Saturday and Sunday have equal space with the weekdays (not true for a lot of other engagement calendars). I haven't found any other spiral bound engagement calendars that work as well.

My problem is that Audubon a couple of years ago changed their paper weight. Pages are thinner now and stick together more, and all in all the calendar feels less durable and withstands being carted around in bags and purses less well than it did before. I'm sure this was done purely for cost-saving purposes. Aesthetically and practically it's a real downer.

Anyway, if you're familiar with the 2013 version, the 2014 is much the same. It's possible that the pages are a shade even thinner than last year, but it's hard to tell since my 2013 calendar is well-worn.

The only other difference I've noticed from 2013 to this year is that there are a few 2-page photo spreads scattered throughout the calendar.

I keep this weekly calendar on my desk at work and have done so for years and years (at least 15). I put notes in it for the upcoming weeks, months ahead of time, and then when I turn the page I am right on schedule. Each week I get to enjoy the beautiful pictures. I even have employees who come in now and then to see the current weeks picture and discuss the factual information included. I would be lost without a weekly planner and so enjoy the beauty of this one along with the functionality.

I've been using these calendars (either Sierra Club or Audubon) for about 15 years now. I love the format. But the paper quality has has deteriorated. Also, Audubon seems to focus on international photos where Sierra Club has pictures mainly from the USA.

I ordered this calendar with my Amazon.com e-gift card balance early Monday morning and receive it the next day.
Begin the New Year of 2014 with the beautiful Audubon Engagement Calendar. I have bought this calendar for many years and now from Amazon.com.
This 9.2" X 6.3" weekly calendar is a great gift for someone, but be sure to buy one for yourself too.
Begins on Monday, December 30, 2013 to Sunday, January 4, 2015. Inside the weekly calendar are 61 original photographs of scenic nature with an informative description of each photo, location and the name of the photographer. This year they have included 3 centerfolds.
The lettering of the months, days and numbers are big enough to read. Each entry of the day has a space of 6" wide and 1" high to write your appointments, meetings, video conferences, travel and airline dates, hotel reservations, phone numbers, birthdays, anniversaries, brunch, luncheons, dinner reservations, Broadway theatre dates, college classes, and dates to pay bills. Also make a note of your favorite tv shows, Winter Olympic Games schedule (NBC, February 7-23, 2014), baseball and basketball games, movie releases and DVD releases, webcasts and podcasts.
The wire-ring bounded calendar can also be used as a daily diary or journal.
Included are American holidays and some holidays observed in Australia, Canada, England, France, New Zealand, North Ireland, Scotland, Wales and all of United Kingdom. Also International holidays, Christian, Jewish and Islamic holidays. Moon phases, Equinox and Solstice, the beginning and end of U.S. Daylight Savings Time.

Bought this for my mom for the past 3 years and now I use one too. My mom uses hers as a planner. I use an online calendar but this planner helps me keep track of my weekly to do list. The pictures are great and it supports a good cause. If you use it a lot by the end of the year the wires get a little funky but it's almost time for a new one anyway and it generally holds up pretty well.

Wonderful photographs and usual format. I either get Audubon or Sierra Club engagement calendar each year. Lies flat and lots of room for notes and appointments.

In addition to gorgeous natural photography of flora & fauna, the layout of the pages and the size of this weekly engagement calendar make it a great addition to my desk. The quality & feel of the paper is very nice and its FSC certified.

At the top of each page are the month and year. U.S. holidays are included, as well as some foreign holidays, (handy for those of us who work with colleagues in overseas offices!). Phases of the moon, some celestial events, as well as equinoxes, etc are also noted on the appropriate days, which I think is a nice touch. At the bottom of each page is a description on the featured photo [for that week] and a mini calendar for that month. New this year are several 2-page photo spread's, which I also like. Also included in the back pages is a map of migration/important bird areas; a map & description of the flyways and an Audubon Directory [of local/national Audubon centers/sanctuaries/offices] and a page for "notes", a 1-page 2014 calendar and 2013 + 2015 on the next page.

The photography, overall quality and functionality make this calendar a value for the price and a great gift for either yourself or someone you like!

Although the majority of my calendaring is on my ipad, there's nothing like sitting at my desk at work and taking a moment to stare at the photo of the week; it's really soothing and brings my perspective back to a positive one, really important on those office-induced stress moments!

I also purchase the Sierra Club's annual engagement calendar and keep it on my desk at home.
