I bought this on a lark, because it was cheep... Okay, okay. I saw this clock in my 88 year old neighbor's kitchen last month, and as we caught up over tea and carrot cake, every hour's chime was a real treat. I did my online research and chose this clock from this vendor, and I'm very pleased. Yesterday I hung my singing birdie clock and I love it to bits! Every hour my cats turn their heads and go.. "Whuuut?" The sound quality is perfect, it's loud enough to hear throughout the house, but not too loud, like there's a real bird in the kitchen for a few seconds. Nice feature that it goes quiet after dark. I'm sending one to my Mom today. Then she'll think of me every time a bird sings (as opposed to every time she feels a headache coming on). This is a really great gift. (You'll need 3 AA batteries on hand).

This clock is the real thing. There are some impostors out there, and I bought one before I got this one. Here is a clue...if there is an owl or a woodpecker on the clock you bought, it is an impostor. Those are not song birds!!

We bought this to replace a 'bird sounds' clock (not audobon) that we had for many years. It was 10". The audobon clocks are 13" and 8" which we thought might either be too big or too small. We opted for the 8".

The size turned out to be perfect (it is in our kitchen). The bird sounds are really great.....not too loud, just right. Our abbysinian cats love them too. Even after a couple months they react to the sound. The look is actually much better than our previous clock. It has a much more classy appearance and a nice little stand that works fine. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

The birds are singing in my kitchen on the hour. It is just so pretty to hear the different little bird songs. I bought the smaller clock to fit a specific area and I like it so much. The dogs went crazy the first couple days, running into the kitchen looking for birds. I was so happy to see it in dark green as it goes beautifully in my pink kitchen. Just a very nice item and surely a great gift to give.

This clock has a very realistic sound of birds. Even more than the one I owned previously.

Every hour the bird v=call just makes me smile. It drives one of my children crazy but I regard this as an added bonus.

This charming clock will cheer up the gloomiest soul! For bird lovers, it's a must. The small size of this model allows for it to be mounted on a wall, taking up a very small space, or it can be placed on a counter or table because it has a bracket.

It only sings when there is light so don't worry about being waken up by birds at night. A bird sings on the hour reminds me of that time flies. It is really good for people who think they have unlimited time. It is especially good for those who procrastinate.

I wish there were a way to check whether the sound matches the bird which is supposed to sing on that hour.

While I expected a slightly artificial tone to the birds' songs (it would be difficult to make them sound truly realistic) I did NOT expect the quality and accuracy to be so completely off the mark. First of all, the bird clock did not come with the bird songs set to the appropriate bird (you can apparently rotate the bird songs to be on different images, for some reason). There wasn't any instructions included to help fix this problem, so I was left to fumble around with it, which was quite frustrating and unpleasant.

However, the true insult was how even with the song set to the correct bird, they were STILL not the correct songs. I work with birds, and am a wild life major, so I've heard what these birds sound like in person. These songs are so inaccurate as to be nearly unrecognizable from the source material.

I am extremely disappointed, I had high expectations from the Audubon Society. Especially in regards to the Northern Mockingbird, which has such a distinctive and recognizable song.

On the other hand, the birds look nice and you can turn off the songs, so if you want a clock with the hours replaced with pretty bird pictures, have at it.

I've always wanted one of these and finally got one for my birthday in 2009, 16 months later the tones don't work, the warranty is over, and the cost of fixing it at the clock shop is over the price of the clock. In my case, I live overseas and replacing it is out of the question. So, I have a cute, little clock that keeps time but doesn't make a sound. So, buy the clock and enjoy the tones but don't expect it to be long lasting.
