A little more rock orientated but still L'ame Immortelle, November 11, 2006
"Auf Deinen Schwingen" is the new album from Austrian band L'Ame Immortelle. I have been a big fan of the band for the last 3-4 years. I was hooked on them the second I heard "The Truth Behind" on a Cleopatra Records compilation, since then I have been buying their music. Unfortunately L'Ame Immortelle's music isn't readily found in American record stores or cheap. I was fortunate today to have found the band's new cd "Auf Deinen Schwingen" at my local used cd store. I was so not disappointed in what I heard. The most noticeable quality about the cd is that it has a more rock orientated sound than the band's previous cds. Surprisingly enough the rock influence works. I wish there was another "Kingdom" or "The Truth Behind" with their catchy dance beats but beggers can't be choosers. Programmer Thomas Rainer sings on quite a few songs through out the album. In the past, Thomas would sing on one or two tracks. I liked what he had to offer as a vocalist. Sonja still sounds amazingly beautiful especially on the ballads. "Last Will" continues where "Fallen Angel" leaves off when it comes to ballads. The song stirred my soul. The cd I bought included two bonus tracks "Dying Day" and "Dein Her2". There was not one song on the entire cd I did not like. L'Ame Immortelle can never disappoint me.

Awesome :), August 16, 2009
This is an awesome cd, I think it's one of their better ones, it's a lot more catchy than the old electro-style cds they've had. The music is well suited to the voices and it blends together well. The lyrics all seem to be about love to some extent, the majority are about lost love or unreciprocated love... so it can be quite depressing :) luckily it's so catchy and a lot of the songs are so fun and... bouncy that it doesn't matter haha. Sonja's voice is very prominent on this cd and she sings a number of songs by herself. She has an amazing voice and throughout the album she conveys many different emotions through it. Thomas' voice is alright, although I'm not a big fan of his vocals to be honest... but I have to say that on some tracks (Auf Deinen Schwingen, Phoenix) it fits in perfectly.
Auf Deinen Schwingen - Nice opening song with a very stark contrast between the verses and the chorus.
Herzschlag - One of my favourite songs on the album. Very fun and happy sounding, despite its subject matter.
Siehst Mich Nicht - To be honest, I always skip this song since I don't like the intro. It freaks me out! (...can you see me?) *shudder*
Nur Du - This is like, my favourite song ever. So happy and fun and danceable! The lyrics are also very cute... please watch the music video on youtube! Although the ending is very sad (but awesome)... you won't regret watching it.
Phoenix - Insanely catchy song, Sonja does a particularly awesome job with the opening lines. (Wenn sich alles was man glaubte...)
Destiny - Sad song, a lot quieter than the last 5. Very depressing but still quite a cool song. May get a bit boring after a while though.
Sometimes Love Is Not Enough - The song is pretty bland really, nothing much interesting to say.
Run Away - A good song, despite being sung entirely by Thomas. He uses his voice for good here, not evil.
Wohin - A slow, very simple song, with a steady beat and it's actually pretty awesome :) I really like it. It sounds kinda R&B-like, if that's possible :P
In Dein Leben - Another happy-sounding song by Sonja. It's got a strange feeling to it though, due to the lyrics being of the "I love you but you don't notice me" kind but it's still so happy... it's wierd :)
Last Will - A sad song, but very life-assuring :)
Der Letzte Akt - I skip this one too, I dunno why. Maybe because it's hard to pronounce :)
Dein Herz - Now for a complete 180, we have a song with happy lyrics (debatably) and dark-sounding music. But it's a real cool song though. I had one line of it stuck in my head for aaages...
Anyway, I really recommend this album if you like this kind of music. You can enjoy it without knowing german too :) If you like this band I also recommend the albums Gezeiten and In Einer Zukunft Aus Tranen Und Stahl.
Sorry for the long review, I get carried away.
See ya
