It is impossible to imagine what it would be like to be told you had ALS. It seems like such an overwhelming thought. And what would you do after such a devestating diagnosis (since it could happen to anyone). Augie's Quest chronicles his journey from incredible business success to the crisis moment he was diagnosed with ALS. With his humanity, insight, humor, perspective and vision he redefined his life and changed the people around him. This compelling story and Augie Nieto's spirit has had real impact on my view of life and priorities. This story touches every emotion and is truly inspiring.

Wow! This book is amazing. Part diary, part confessional, Augie's story surprised and touched me. I have never met Augie, but after reading this book I feel like I have. This is a great American biography of the determination to overcome challenge after challenge. We all can relate to Augie's story, and I hope that other people will be just as inspired as I was after reading the book.

Augie Nieto's book, Augie's Quest, is a remarkable true story of a man who doesn't allow life's most challenging difficulty, a terminal illness, to slow him down. His book inspired me to have focus in my life and cherish each moment. Augie's words challenge me to love my family, appreciate others, and reflect on how I conduct my life. Augie's book, also, teaches me "not to sweat the small stuff", and focus on loving others and making a positive difference in people's lives. I strongly recommend this book to inspire and motivate adults and teenagers alike.

I am one of the lucky ones. I've counted Augie as a close personal friend and business associate for about seven years now. Before his diagnosis, just about everyone who knew Augie would characterize him as "one in a million" - simply one of the friendliest, most generous and outgoing people I've ever come across. My colleagues used to joke that Augie was my hero, and they were right. After all, what isn't there to admire: he is enormously successful in business, has a great family and a personality that drives people to him.

What Augie has been able to accomplish in the two plus years since his diagnosis truly boggles the mind. I visited with Augie yesterday and, at one point, sitting across from me, unable to move his arms or stand up on his own, he said, "I'm having so much fun and I've truly never been happier in my life." As hard as it is to imagine, I have no doubt he meant it.

You probably won't get the priviledge of meeting Augie, but the book is tremendously inspiring and it will give you a glimpse into the life and determination of a remarkable person, a guy who's truly one-in-six billion.

Augie's Quest is a remarkable book about a remarkable man. Augie's true story is one of success, fun, sadness, inspiration and an unwavering determination to make a difference in the world. It strikes every emotion possible! Along the way you will see a glimpse of the future of medicine and how diseases that have plagued our society will be attacked with laser-sharp focus. Prepare yourself to read it all in one sitting; it's that good.

I read the book in 3 hours- It was a fascinating story about how they will find a cure for ALS and how a cure can be found for many diseases. This should be required reading for scientists as it will open their eyes to why they should invest in the cure. It's hard to believe a man going through such a devastating disease has found the strength to take on the disease as a business venture and as a model for change in the way research is being done. I was blown away!!

This is one truly amazing book about a truly amazing man. It is not everyday that you read a memoir that provides you with an education. This book provides an education about a disease, a business, a marriage and most importantly an education about what is important in one's life. The good news is that Augie is still fighting to champion his quest for a cure for ALS while making those people who he meets along the way his "brother(s) from another mother."

I saw Augie's Quest out of the corner of my eye, but the title caught my attention so I bought it without actually reading the inside cover. I was amazed to find that the book was about ALS. Not only is the book inspiring and educational, it has a personal importance to me having just lost my mother to the disease. I knew nothing about ALS and have spent the months since her death researching ways to improve matters concerning the patient as well as their caretakers. Today I had the priviledge of visiting the Institute in Cambridge which served to further inspire me to contribute to the quest. The visit gave me hope that there will be a cure one day, more will be done to improve resources for the families affected and more funds will be raised to continue this important work. I thank Augie for his incredible contribution and dedication and for sharing it to raise awareness and inspire others.

I have never met Augie, yet after reading his most inspiring book, I feel like I have known him a lifetime. I have watched him on Jerry's MDA telethon with tears rolling down my face, just like tears rolled down my face reading his book, yet there were not I feel sorry for you tears, they are tears knowing that Augie has shared his life with the entire world, and even though given this terrible blow of ALS, he continues to grow and show everyone out there, there is hope, there will be a cure someday, and Augie is determined to make that happen. His book, Augie's Quest, is a quest of determination, love, and hope and when you finish the book and sit there, you will realize that the only hope that Augie and all the people affected with ALS, only have the hope of the readers, and the public to reach out and help them and MDA find a cure for this disease. Buy this book for a friend for Christmas, or even a birthday present, it makes a great present, and really makes you realize just how lucky you are to be able to pick up a book, turn the pages, get up and down and what we take for granted, a man who no longer can do these simple tasks, is asking for your support of MDA and Augie's Quest so that no one else ever has to suffer from ALS or any form of MDA. Do it today, read it, Augie's Quest in my life is a Ten Plus!!!!!

I loved this book! Life is short and Augie Nieto has packed so much into his years on this planet. His journey has been peppered with plenty of obstacles but he has persevered and has been incredibly successful in both his work and his personal life. His passion for finding a cure for ALS is inspiring and it was fascinating reading about how he approached medical research in a novel way. I am convinced that this amazing man will find his cure!
