My copy of this book is filled with sticky notes, bookmarks, and highlighted paragraphs- I use it constantly for research, presentations, ideas, etc. It is a key resource for teachers, researchers, and therapists. Well written and comprehensive!

As a graduate student I am told to buy text for class, which I typically start reading for the first few weeks and give up because the text is too confusing, repetitive, long, etc. This is the first text that I actively read every page assigned. The citations are incredible as is the information. The authors get right to the point and move on, they don't take pages to explain topics unless it is necessary. I suggest this for anyone interested in AAC or working with the population as a reference.

This book is useful for my class, but it is difficult to understand if you haven't taken speech classes prior to reading this.

So sorry...I can hardly stand it. This is the most boring text book I've ever had to read. It has taken me a week to get through the first six chapters. It put me to sleep. It is dry and unimaginative.
