5.0 out of 5 stars Well-Researched, Colorful Summary of Late-War Bf109s!, March 2, 2006
This review is from: Augsburg's Last Eagles (EagleFiles, No. 3) (Paperback)
For those aviation enthusiasts with an interest in late-war Luftwaffe fighters and camouflage, Brett Green's marvelous book will be a treat. Green and Eagle Editions have produced an exquisite, colorful and well-researched summary of Bf 109 variants, camouflage and markings.

Late-war Luftwaffe camouflage has been a controversial issue with many differing views on exactly what colors Bf 109s and FW 190s were painted in. The topic has produced many fine books by authors like Ken Merrick, Tom Hitchcock, G. G. Pentland and others. Likewise making sense of the confusing 109 variants produced has resulted in books aplenty.

Green tackles the 1944-45 color schemes and 109 variants in a clear, concise narative amply illustrated with black and white and color photos with detailed captions, four pages of gorgeous color profiles by Tom Tullis and 12 pages of color photos of the last Bf 109 still painted in its original wartime colors, the Treloar Technology Center's G-6 model.

All in all, a superb, well-researched and written examination of a still controversial topic.
