The Kindle version of this book, I have from the library is FULL of errors!!!

First bread recipe for a Lemon Bread. For 1 cup of sugar, 5 T of melted butter, 2 eggs, and 1/2 c. milk, they add ONLY 1/2 cup of flour and expect this to make a bread in a 9 x 5 pan. Not likely.

Just a few breads later, the Zucchini Bread, 3 eggs and 214 cups of sugar!

Blueberry muffins call for 1 3/4 CUDS milk or water. The capitalization is theirs.

Butterscotch bars in a 9 x 13 pan, call for 14 cup quick cook oatmeal, 1/4 c. brown sugar and 112 ounce jar of caramel sauce...yummy.

Frozen fruit salad asks for 14 cup mayonnaise and 14 cup walnuts!

A huge number of these are not really cooking recipes, just tossing processed, ready made ingredients together and pretending they create something homemade and lovely. Cake mixes, instant pudding, whipped topping figure into many of these recipes.
Sticky buns do NOT show up, when you set refrigerated biscuits onto goo. Instead you have store bought biscuits in goo.

Pumpkin bread asks for 2 1/2 Acups unbleached flour. Is it asking you to measure with a bra?!

With the number of obvious errors in this book, one has to wonder, are ANY of the recipes right?.

Such a shame the proofing of this book appears to be nonexistent.

I purchased this cookbook out of the fondness I held for the television show and thought it would make a novel conversation piece when guests linger in my kitchen. Aunt Bee's Delightful Deserts has become an essential desert cookbook not only for my dinners but family gatherings, cookouts, and parties. Lorranie's Fudge has become a Christmas tradition! The photos from the television show with kooky captions along with the recipes make cooking from this book as delightful as Mayberry itself. A must for any cook.

I'm a collector of cookbooks since I was in the 7th grade--so when I saw this cookbook, and I loved watching Mayberry, I just had to have it. Couldn't beat the price. There are so many recipes--over 300--that I haven't had a chance to "digest" all of them. When I have time just to sit down for an hour or so, I'm really looking forward to checking them all out. The pictures from the show are an added benefit. Bon Appetit!

I really wanted to love this cookbook. I watched the Andy Griffith show as a kid.
But, the format of the kindle version of this book is a mess. A recipe title may be on the bottom of one page, recipe on the next.
There's no cohesiveness. There are typos and the lay out is poor. For example, while under the candy section you will suddenly see a pie or two.
The recipes are truly from another era. Lots of prepackaged cake mix, pudding, and cook old vanilla wafers. It's not a complaint, most of the recipes remind me of my childhood. But, there are numerous recipes for the same thing or the same recipe with a different title. Not a lot of variation.
It's unfortunate because there is a lot of fun trivia, a whole episode list, and some background stories of the cat and crew.
I wish I would have stuck to my rule of only buying paperprint cookbooks.

This cookbook delightful to use and to peruse! It is a collection of 350 "small town" recipes from cast, friends and guest artists from the show. Trivia and snapshots are sprinkled throughout.
All the recipes I have tried in the cookbook have been very accurate. No missing ingredients. No temperatures wrong. The index is thorough: recipes by name and by major ingredient. The recipes are easy to follow and come out tasty too!
The names are unique: Remember Gomer telling Barney "Citizen's arrest!! Citizen's arrest!!" Well, "Citizen's Arrest Chocolate Cheesecake" would be worth a night in the slammer with Otis! It's that good!
Every recipe I have tried has become a favorite: "My Name Ain't Clem Applesauce Cake" "Wally's 7-Up(r) Pound cake" "Ellie's Apple Crisp"....
Delightful is right! For reading, cooking and eating!

Childhood memories brought to life. I haven't made any of these recipes, and my rating is not based on the validity of, or the taste of these recipes; it is based on sheer nostalgia. The accompanying pictures and stories in this book are wonderful.

There are a ton of recipes here! Also sprinkled throughout they have trivia, photos, and it's just fun to read the dialogue that inspired a lot of the recipes. I was surprised how much I like this e-book. There's an index in the back of all the recipes which is really helpful.

Loved every recipe in this cookbook. Grew up watching "The Andy Griffith Show" so not only was it a walk down Memory Lane, but to finally have some of the great recipes from the show made my memories even stronger. Can't think of one that I loved more than the other, and that is a rarity for me, especially since I'm an avid cook and cookbook collector. Definitely a keeper!
