I have been shopping for this for some time now. I read all the reviews and was hesitant to take a chance on it not being what i wanted without touching it first. I FINALLY found THIS item packaged two per package at Hancock's Fabrics, bought them and inspected them thoroughly. Then I bought these online.

THIS IS IT!

This is the super amazing towel of old. There was NO pilling. They wash up like the 100% cotton that they are - you WILL need to iron after washing if you want to stitch on them. But they are true to shape (all right angles, no wonky weirdness after washing) They are extra durably thick. They are perfect for all the kitchen uses I wanted them for, like drying dishes and then the towel air drying quickly, to put under things you wish to drain, etc. They are a bit heavy for straining off the whey in cheese making.

I am thrilled with the purchase! I bought three packs of seven. They are highly prized, and I intend to give most of them as gifts. Out of 21 towels, there were 2 with flaws - one had a one inch miss in the hem, and one had the hanger loop not fully attached. Neither of these flaws were of any consequence to me; just sharing the info.

update: after using them in my kitchen for a while, i have determined that these are better quality/thicker/more tightly woven than any i have ever used before. my hubby says this will diminish over time, and it may. meanwhile, if i decide i need more for myself, i'll probably get the Aunt Martha's regular rather than the premium. i expect they will be well received as gifts!

I'm glad I didn't order many of these, because they are NOT flour sack cloth. The label says "100% cotton" "Made in India." Having had the experience of growing up sewing in a family that owned fabric stores, I would call the material low thread count "sheeting." It will be fine to embroider, but I don't hold out much hope of it serving as anything more than a piece of sheet in the kitchen. My search for REAL flour sack cloth continues......

These are the best flour sack dish towels I have ever purchased. They are on grain and fold perfectly. 2 of the towels had small problems with the hems, easily fixed on my sewing machine. I embroider towels as gifts a Christmas, and the heavier weight of the towels are perfect for this. The size is generous. I will purchase more!

I ordered these towels as a replacement to our thin, worn out drying towels. These are excellent. I am so glad I did not pay attention to negative comments by other reviewers. I love the fact that these towels are huge and absorbant. We use them on the counter as a place for dishes to dry and also to wipe dishes dry to put them up right away. We have two out at all times. If we have a ton of dishes, there is room for all of them on the counter when the towel is single layer. We often seem to use every pot and pan in the house when making meals (we cook at home a lot) and it is nice to have 1 towel big enough to accomodate everything. Of course, the towels can be folded to accomodate fewer dishes. These towels do not leave lint on glasswear. These towels are super thick and very absorbant. I could not be more pleased with this product. They wash well and have enough bulk to fold well. Definitely a 5 star rating. And now the thin towels are in the garage for cleaning car windows.

I don't understand why a reviewer would say these towels don't dry dishes well. I have had the opposite experience with them. They make glasses sparkle and quickly too! As other reviewers have said these towels are big, thick and should hold up well. I have had mine for 6 months and have washed them over and over. They come out of the laundry pure white (I use 200 degree water, no bleach) and have kept their super absorbency. I am so glad to have them in my kitchen and even proud as they look so nice, crisp and clean. I'm going to order another set just because I sometimes hoard nice, practical things...LOL!

Aunt Martha's 33-Inch by 38-Inch Flour Sack Dish Towels are fantastic. They are well made and I love, just love the larger size. They are not only perfect for embroidering, but work for drying dishes and many other kitchen chores.

I spent hours possibly days browsing the web, looking in every store for a good quality of flour sack towels for my 85 year old mother to stamp and sew for dish towels. I finally settled on Aunt Marthas. Knowing my Mom ,only the finest quality would do for her.
What a wonderful surprise when they arrived!!! These are the only ones I'll buy again. You won't be disappointed.

These towels are the best, thickest, greatest flour sack towels I have ever purchased. Much better than all the rest. I predict they will hold up well over time.
