I've studied aura reading and healing with celestian perception with Rose (in person) and she is an excellent teacher. She explains sometimes nebulous material in a very down-to-earth voice and reinforces the idea that almost anyone can learn to read auras with a bit of practice and tuning in to their particular "gifts of the soul". You don't have to be local (in VA) to learn these techniques, though. In addition to being very skilled in the whole metaphysical area, Rose is a gifted writer who can easily translate her "voice" into words. You can almost hear her speaking to you.

I would recommend this book above and beyond almost all others on the same topic because it shows you in very concrete ways that you don't "have" to see colors to read someone's aura. There are many ways of tuning in and receiving information through someone's aura and this book shows you how to do just that.

One of the "must have's" on my bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Progress, February 6, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aura Reading Through All Your Senses: Celestial Perception Made Practical, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
Most books about auras and aura reading seem to me so much rubbish. They might talk in a flowery way about the great advantages or high spiritual benefit of perceiving auras. However, I have not found any help toward experiencing any of the "heightened perceptions" that any of them talk about. If we cannot see for ourselves and know for ourselves, is there any real use in it? Is there any interest whatever? Not for me.

I wanted to see whatever there is to see. If there are colors, I'd like to see them and know what they mean. Well, I don't. It's that simple, and I am not going to lie to myself or to anyone else about it. This is a very fine book because it is practical. It shows me that I can extract information in a tactile way. That works for me (although I'd still like to see whatever is there) in the sense that I can actually experience it and know for myself. That's good. This is the only book I've ever found that gives access to people like me---the people in the cheap seats spiritually and psychically---to these phenomena. You will notice that Ms. Rosetree has done a lot of work in updating to the second edition. It's fine work. So many books are really written for the author (to make money and to show how smart the author is). Here you have a book written to help the reader live with more grace and insight. That's what I want. All congratulations to the author. Well done. (If it were not well done, I would have said that as bluntly.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Develop your Reading, Develop Spiritually, October 25, 2005
This review is from: Aura Reading Through All Your Senses: Celestial Perception Made Practical, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
This book is one of a kind. Most book on aura reading are very limited in the way they teach to develop your abilities. This book cannot fail to help you unravel your gifts because it pinpoints your strengths. It doesn't promise instantaneous and magical aura viewing in "30 seconds!" or in "30 minutes!" Psychic reading is a skill to develop and this book helps you develop it.

One of the most interesting idea she discusses is that of synesthesia, the merging of the psychic senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, etc) that happens eventually as you develop one or two of your talents. She also develops the three basic psychic senses into eleven.

The other strength of the book is that the author links psychic abilities development and spiritual development. She offers recommendations and a resource section to that end. In short, that book is completely worth it to the spiritual student, healer, psychic or else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical exercises to develop your sixth sense, February 19, 2005
This review is from: Aura Reading Through All Your Senses: Celestial Perception Made Practical, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
This book is a collection of exercises to develop your extra sense of perception. You can do these exercises with your friends and family or quietly learn by yourself with your daily interactions with people. Animals are great to work with, they already are keen to the perception you would be developing with the help of this book

The Author has painstakingly reduced the steps that are needed to develop and awaken your deeper sense of perception.

I enjoyed reading, sharing and playing with the exercises in Aura Reading with all your senses. I particularly appreciated the validation that Auras are not just seen but felt and known. I'm grateful for the practical details about perceptions and ways to refine them. This book should be a must read for those that want to develop their sixth sense and want to share it with their friends

I read Rose Rosetree's Aura Reading guide after a session with her. She was so frightfully accurate in reading my aura that I wanted to experience some of that knowledge. This book is GOOD! The language is clear and easily readable. Rose educates, not dictates. While I'm a long way from Rose's gifts, I can now quickly identify certain emotional states in people, especially fear. I now feel it is a necessary tool for interacting with people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skekpticism incorrect, February 22, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My training is in mathematics, and my work is in engineering. I believe in the spiritual realm and spiritual experience in an intellectual way, but I have felt shut away from direct experience of those matters. I bought the book months ago as one of many books which might teach me to experience something more. I wanted a gateway. Although several of the exercises worked immediately for me, I got frustrated and set it aside when an exercise of gazing into a mirror yielded absolutely no interesting results at all. At the time, I took the view that this was just one more of very many complete dud books on the market. Be honest, you've seen lots of them!

My Mom is usually a terrible skeptic. She considers auras and that sort of thing to be weird and possibly dangerous. After reading Ms. Rosetree's "Wrinkles" book, Mom devoured this one. Now I'm doing the exercises more patiently ( and more correctly ) and getting slow, but better progress. I had expected fireworks, and I had expected it within a short time. At least for me, it starts subtle and develops slowly, but it does. I guess this is something like growing flowers. It has to grow naturally. Although it failed my initial screening, this does appear to be one of the VERY FEW books that actually gives good and useful HOW TO instruction. Well done, Ms. Rosetree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rosetree focuses on empowering you, not on her "method", May 25, 1999
By A Customer
So many authors with spiritual gifts are convinced that they have The Way, it is extremely refreshing to find a teacher who treasures her students' uniqueness and encourages them to find their own path. What Natalie Goldberg did for writing with Writing Down the Bones--that is, saying, "You want to be a writer? So write!" Rose Rosetree here does for aura reading. She provides helpful exercises, clues to finding your own style, and encouragement to go on and do it. A sweet read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, April 14, 2002
I love the way Rose Rosetree presents the material. She's matter-of-fact, but very profound in her insight. I've read quite a number of books on this topic over the past thirty or so years. This is the one and only book I'd personally recommend.
This book is for all levels of "seekers", in my opinion. For the reviewer who said she was unsuccessful in her attempts, I'd suggest that she put it down and pick it up at a later time. It's like trying too hard to remember a name--- the law of reverse effect sets in.
Rose presents the material in a new light which may be too open-ended for some readers. Perhaps they need the structure of "here's how". And that's okay. I love the book and very enthusiastically recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars The jury is still out..., September 11, 2006

This review is from: Aura Reading Through All Your Senses: Celestial Perception Made Practical, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
A close friend of mine had attended a live training with Rose Rosetree and talked highly of her. I then bought her book on Aura Reading and also on Empathy.

My friend tells me that Rose is much better in person than she comes across on the written page.

I tend to take books such as this with a grain of salt, while trying to keep an open mind. At this point I'm very skeptical, but I do not want to "close the book" just yet. I have read the book and reread certain sections, including the exercises.

The book has a section on identifying "your special talent" for reading auras: visual, kinetically, olfactory, "knowing," etc. By the end of the chapter I think that everyone would have identified with one of the things Rose said. This means that we ALL have a special talent. However, if we all have it, what makes it so special?

The book is about "reading" auras, not "seeing" auras. Basically, she talks about gathering information about someone or something through "subtle perceptions."

She has several exercises for developing your ability to read auras. I really want to see colors, but I don't. She relies on the ability to see colors when describing some of the uses of aura reading. At other times, she seems to put everything under the umbrella of aura reading. Want to "hear" the music on a CD before you buy it? Read the aura! Use aura reading to smell perfumes without opening the bottles. (I kid you not, this is in the book).

The preparation for some of the exercises is simplistic and the book doesn't explain how or why certain things do the things she says they will. For example, she reported that you can raise your vibrational rate, by taking three deep breaths, which she calls "High vibration breaths." I've done a lot of deep breathing and a lot of meditation, but I don't believe I've really "seen" an aura.

On the other hand, I've "seen" things and felt things. I'm not sure what these things are. I don't know if it's just me fooling myself or if this is genuinely aura reading. I've always had the ability to look at someone or a picture of someone and size them up fairly accurately (based on reports by others). This is what I mean by the jury still being out. I continue to try the exercises, because I really would like to do the things she describes.

Please note: I'm writing this from my office and don't have the book with me, so some of the terminology may be off, but the concepts are not.

The bottom line is that the book doesn't cost that much and if you are interested, buy the book and try the exercises. Maybe you'll have more luck than I did.
