Ok, so first off I'd like to say that these things often get underrated among home recording and pro recording circles. They are often mocked and ridiculed simply because they are not as effective as fiberglass bass traps. I was somewhat skeptical when I bought these, but I decided to give them a chance anyway! I am very pleased with the results. My recording room (in my house) is somewhat bare when it comes to treatment. Apart from some fiberglass traps in the corners, I have nothing on the walls...no foam, no cloud, nothing except the corners. So, in the interest of giving a fair review, I removed those fiberglass traps and played some of my stuff in my monitors. It sounded sloppy without my traps, of course.

This is where the Auralex lenrd traps come into play. I installed my eight pack into the two corners closest to my mix desk. It was a lot better than what I was expecting...everything was immediately tight and balanced again (almost to the point of when I had my other traps). It sounded great. That's when I became a believer in these things ;) Like I said before, they are by no means fiberglass traps (their specs say down to 75hz...that's about right). After some tests, pretty much everything above 75-80 hz in my room was tame! I'd still recommend fiberglass traps for the LOW lows, but I'd recommend pairing them with these babies for ultimate treatment! It's a beautiful thing really :)

Just to recap--they aren't as great as fiberglass traps, but they're pretty great! Get em if you're looking for some bass treatment for tricky spots in the room or for treating a practice room! Can't go wrong with Auralex. Remember though--if you're looking to completely treat the bass in your room with these, you're probably gonna need at LEAST 16-20. So yeah, a combo of fiberglass and foam is the best bet!
