Product Description

The Aurelia Robust 9389 nitrile, powder-free, disposable glove has better puncture resistance compared to latex or vinyl gloves, and is textured along the length of the fingers for improved grip compared to a glove with textured fingertips. This glove has a palm thickness of 5 mils and a finger thickness of 6 mils, and is 9.4" long from the tip of the middle finger to the edge of the beaded wrist cuff, which is 2 mils thick. Nitrile provides better elasticity than vinyl, better puncture resistance than latex or vinyl, better abrasion resistance than chloroprene, and reduces the likelihood of allergic reaction. This powder-free glove leaves no residue, reducing the risk of contamination compared to a powdered glove. This ambidextrous blue glove is suitable for dental and medical applications.

Tensile strength, measured in MPa, is the amount of force required to rip a glove; the higher the number, the stronger the glove material. Elongation measures how much a glove can be stretched before it breaks. It is expressed as a percent of the original length of the glove at the moment of breakage; the higher the percent, the more the glove can stretch. AQL is an FDA quality specification for the defect rate in surgical and exam gloves. The FDA requires an AQL of 1.5 for surgical gloves and 2.5 for exam gloves.

Disposable and limited-use gloves are used in medical, forensic, scientific, food service, and industrial applications. Disposable gloves are commonly made from flexible materials such as latex, nitrile, chloroprene, and vinyl. While most disposable gloves are designed for use on either hand, some can be purchased in hand-specific models. They are offered powdered or powder-free; silicone or silicone-free; chlorinated or non-chlorinated; coated or uncoated; with a standard- or extended-length cuff; sterile or non-sterile; and with textured or smooth fingers, fingertips, and palms. A glove's abrasion, cut, and puncture resistance are defined by glove material and thickness, and may be improved with the use of exterior coatings. Abrasion resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from contact with rough surfaces. Cut resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from blades and sharp instruments. Puncture resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from objects such as needles. Chemical resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from certain chemicals, and varies by glove material.

Aurelia Gloves manufactures disposable gloves. The company, founded in 2000 and headquartered in Aurora, IL, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 2859-1:1989.

Pay attention to the picture, which shows this ill-fitting glove gaping at the wrist while not long enough in the fingers. It is truly that way on the hand. In action, this means that paint, joint compound, or dirt will fall down past the wrist into the hand, giving you very poor protection. (I use nitrile gloves when I need fine-fingered control for painting, spackling, or working with tiny garden seedlings, although you'd have the same trouble with liquids, lotions, etc. if working with patients.) Too, while I have always used "smalls" in nitrile gloves, this Robust brand is sized like a medium, so it doesn't fit as snugly as it should. I recommend that you DO NOT buy these cheap-fitting gloves if you want the real protection that you normally get, want, and expect from nitrile gloves.

I have average size hands, and the gloves in the box that are actually XL fit easily and comfortably.

However, I'm not all the way through the box yet, but so far I've found (and kept as evidence) 32 gloves that can only be S/XS in size. They will literally not fit onto my hand at all.

I read reviews of products before I purchase anything, and I'm very skeptical of people who make outrageous claims about products, so I'm conflicted about actually posting this, because it seems like an exaggeration. I can assure you it is not. I've kept the bad gloves in hopes of presenting the evidence to the manufacturer at some point, so they can see what they're shipping.

Very disappointing.

Bought these gloves because I'm an EMT and I've discovered how useful Nitrile gloves can be. Being powder-free these gloves can be a little tedious to get on (not recommend for EMT use as you want to be able to have full PPD as fast as possible) but once on they work great. The rubber has a fine texture and the finger tips are also textured giving good grip. The size fits my hand well with minimal gaping around my fingers. The gloves extend down the wrist fairly well which works to prevent liquids from entering the glove. That said, it is definitely possible, so use a longer glove if you need to be careful.

I use these for all sorts of household tasks. Cleaning, dishes, changing the oil on my car, you name it, these can work. Remember that the purpose of these gloves is simply to be a barrier between your skin and contaminants. It should not be relied upon for specialized work that would required work gloves otherwise (for example, do not use them to handle hot objects!)

These are well worth the low cost considering how well they protect my hands from the caustic and corrosive chemicals commonly used when working on the cars. The gloves are all from the same mold, no rights or lefts, but it doesn't seem to matter. Trick is to ensure your hands are very dry or they will rip when putting them on. Good that they're powder-free, though did give some condiseration to trying to add powder to ease sliding them on. The size seems true, I normally wear L's and these mediums fit snug when they're finally on (Didn't want them loose). The tearing others have mentioned could be eliminated by a larger size.

these are the slightly thicker 5 mil ones. (i did not measure with gauge, but you should get the idea)
a few in there has some deformities during manufacturing, example: had a thumb on one that was double-thick (to me this is a plus).
there was one which did rip across the palm really quickly while putting it on (not typical at all and only one so far that did that).
Gone through at least 8 pairs or so. Using for automotive repair and helps keep hands clean. Powder free so no need to worry about sensitivity. Great for the price (though have not counted total amount of gloves in there).

These gloves are not sturdy enough for auto repair work. I have previously used Gator skin gloves (which are also just okay), but these were about $5 cheaper for a box of 100, so I figured I'd give them a try. I've used two pairs and each have lasted about 10 minutes before tearing.

In addition, the medium size is small across the palm but long in the fingers, so unless you have very narrow hands with long fingers, these won't be a good fit.

As I have now read from other reviewers, these gloves seem to run small. I bought one size larger than I thought I would need and they were still VERY tight and difficult to get on.Once on, they were great! They are pretty darn tough, nothing like those gloves your doctor uses. I gave four stars for the sizing issue.. because I didn't feel I received what I ordered. Now I have 98 gloves left and they're all a bit too small and these aren't exactly cheap!
