On the night the shredder was delivered, it took me no more than 5 mins to unpack box and set it up. I like the collapsible bin design, and it indeed greatly reduces consumption of non-recyclable plastic. I shredded about 5 years bank and credit card statements, and they filled about two 13 gallons garbage bag, fully compacted by my foot. The motor case even didn't get warm afterwards. I only tried about 6 pages at a time because I believe that will help motor from being overtaxed and should keep it running longer time. I did lubricate the shredder after every 5 full bins by several pages drenched with peanut oil. The curved feeding slot design is much simple and elegant, and does not require any "high" tech proximity gadget found in some Fellowes models. The overall noise is much lower than a Fellowes in my office previously. Regardless how fancy it is, a shredder is a shredder. As long as its noise level, capacity and duty cycle meet your needs, it's a good shredder.

If you need a quiet shredder for the baby's room this is perfect. It is very quiet. But as a shredder system it has its downfalls. It gets one star from me because it claims to be Professional. The word is in the title. It isn't professional grade. But it is quiet.

For a personal use shredder this might be okay. Especially if your use is very low. But for our office this shredder is just not easy to enough to use to make it a keeper. If it had a bigger basket, probably. Why not make it twice as tall, it could be done for under a dollar?

First, the positives:
1-The shredder itself is good enough, and quiet.
2-It has a small footprint, and it's quiet.
3-Could be stored in a cabinet and only brought out when Fawn Hall visits. And it's quiet.

Now the not so positives:
1-The shredder itself is good enough, but chokes on 12 sheets. This was day one. It shredded some files and did okay. And it's quiet.
2-It claims the basket holds up to 280 sheets of shredded paper. Here are the numbers to remember; 30, 20, and 10. Ours usually shuts down after 25 to 35 sheets of paper and you have to tamp down the shredded paper inside. The second time it does it after 15 to 20 pages, cause remember, the basket already has a lump of shredded paper in it. The third time it quits after 10 or 15 sheets, and it's time to empty the basket. That's not anything near 280 pages of shredded paper. But it's quiet.
3-The basket does fold for shipping, but because it's cheaply made and bendy it isn't smooth getting it in and out of the shredder rack. But it's quiet.
4-It claims to be a confetti shredder. If so, that is the largest confetti ever. It's a crosscut shredder, nothing close to a micro cut.
5-It doesn't like shredding CDs. It rejected half of the ones we put in it, just sent them back up. Destroyed, pretty well, but not shredded.

For a personal use shredder this might be okay. Especially if your use is very low. But for our office this shredder is just not easy to enough to use to make it a keeper. If it had a bigger basket, probably. Why not make it twice as tall, it could be done for under a dollar? And quietly.

This is probably the best shredder I have had. So far so good. You have no idea how many years of back paperwork I have been shredding. This machine is a little work horse. I opted against the so called Gold Box special mentioned in some reviews assuming it was made cheap for retailers and bought the Aurora C1210 12-Sheet Professional Crosscut Paper Shredder (Black) being sold by Amazon and I am very happy I did. Also mentioned in reviews to periodically run a sheet of paper with oil on it through the shredded. This makes sense to lubracate the inners and I believe it is important to protect the shredding gears. Peanut oil was mentioned to use in other reviews but I opted for WD-40 believing that some food or veggie oils can become sticking and may damange the machine. WD-40 works great and will not build up or become sticky I use it all the time. Allow the machine to cool a bit once in a while is a good idea too, although it never required it, it just keeps working like a PRO. I highly recommend this machine it's awesome! 5 STARS!

I have a home office and wanted a decent shredder - this fit the bill perfectly. Makes easy work of receipts, old credit cards or other information you don't want to leave out by the street. Relatively quiet, simple to set up, works well and shreds to a level that puts the mind at ease. Uses a cross cut pattern that would make remains unpalatable for all but the absolutely most determined.

Initially I gave this shredder a great review, but after a year the door jammed constantly and kicked out of place while shredding, haulting shredding constantly. Very irritating. I had to give up and go with another shredder, which shreds much more quickly.

When I got this the set up was easy, it did do the 12 sheets (struggle) but it did chomp them. We did have an issue with the waste bin being locked in all the way - not a big deal. BUT this thing died in less than a year - DEAD. I thought this would deliver more based on the price and reviews. NOPE - why not try and get a replacement? My husband noted we had issues with the bin from the beginning and felt more detail was put into the "cute" basket design than the shreder. I agreed. We have just purchased a different brand at about the same price (one week) and it is kicking A$$ on the first week we owned this. Don't WASTE your money. Look at the brand at 129.00 range and you will find a nice alternative at a few bucks more ----- my review will be there in a few weeks ---- just to make sure I am not too quick to give a review ;) Thanks!

Just need to remove 2 words from the name of this shredder;Professional and Crosscut. This shredder is quiter than many I have used and seems powerful. I would expect Professional Crosscut to be very small like a confetti cut. Everything so far tends to be small strip cuts. Luckily, it is still better than my old shredder. If the cut were better, this would be perfect for the home or small office. Glad I bought it on a gold box deal.

Excellent high quality product that we have used relentlessly since receiving. How quickly papar receipts build up. Thank goodness we have shredders that can handle the loads without blowing a fuse or getting permanently jammed.

The basket of this shredder is incredibly flimsy and broke (in two different points) after a few uses. Very poor quality. To top it off, the shredder has a security sensor that doesn't allow it to work without the basket. so that once the basket (and its support structure) gets broken, the whole unit becomes unusable.

After a few months of light use (a half-dozen baskets of paper; no CDs or DVDs), the auto shut-off sensor stopped working. Now the shredder runs nonstop whenever the switch is on. So far my attempts at repair have failed.
