A very informative book for those who are going to see the Aurora lights for the first time or for those seasoned visitors who want to know more about these wonderful phenomena. It is written with scientific knowledge and presented with a teachers love of the subject in a way that communicates pertinate information and understanding. I am glad I found this one.

Un libro para entender plenamente las Auroras Boreales, es recomendable leer este libro antes de ir a verlas, una vez documentados, se disfruta mucho mas.
Libro completamente recomendable y muy bien hecho, contiene mucha investigación detrás de estas hojas.

For the wrong audience,
This review is from: Aurora Watcher's Handbook (Natural History) (Paperback)
I am a college graduate living in Alaska and thought Neil Davis' piece would offer some insight into the mystery of the Aurora borealis. Instead, I found the book and the writing very dumbed down as if he needed to explain the subject to a 9 year old (as a lengthy dialogue in the book does). I left feeling knowing little more than how to photograph the aurora, less about how the phenomenon works and its dynamics. Skip this one and look for a more scientific book that does not treat the reader as a child.
