Product Description

Ausanil is a non-prescription homeopathic nasal spray developed by a neurologist and lifelong migraine sufferer. Ausanil works rapidly to relieve the pain of severe tension headaches, migraines, cluster headache, rebound headaches and medication overuse headaches. NOTE: All users of Ausanil will experience an intense local sting in the nose, but Ausanil has no systemic side effects or any known adverse drug interactions. Embrace the Sting. Everyone using Ausanil will feel the intense sting in the nose upon use. The sting is related to the mechanism of action of Ausanil and it means it is working and your headache should get better shortly. Ausanil is NOT to be inhaled or sniffed into the sinuses as it works directly on the mucosa of the nostrils. The sting lasts anywhere from 5-10 minutes for most patients and in some cases may last longer. The good news is that with repeated use, for many patients, the intensity of the sting becomes less with time without impacting its effectiveness.

Torn by reviews on here? Read on, hopefully this will explain what is going on =)

So Ausanil is remarkably simple, and wonderfully effective. But you HAVE to use it right.

I have read some reviews on here, and I see the problem some folks are having. YES, it is a nasal spray. NO do not inhale. It will NOT work as well if you do.

WHY?

Well it has to do with how Ausanil works. It is capsaicin-based (capsaicin is the spicy stuff from chili peppers, used for over millennia for analgesic purposes). It needs to be applied VERY close to the nerve that is responsible for the migraine (or practically all headaches), the V2 facial nerve. That nerve so happens to live very close to the nasal mucosa. Win.

So Ausanil is more of a nasal oitnment, than a spray: it should not go anywhere but RIGHT there, where it reaches the nerve directly, and overwhelms it with burning information. Boom.

If you inhale it, some of it is a) removed from where it needs to be, becoming less effective b) goes to your throat, eyes, etc., where it burns like hell. So don't =)

This is actually unique and great, as it does not need to go into the bloodstream to work, so it will not mess with any medications, and etc. Pretty cool, as it is virtually harmless.

For many this is the cure they have been waiting for, so I hate to see all these negative reviews from folks who clearly did not follow instructions discourage other sufferers. (Though, I am sure there is some small percentage of folks for whom this will simply not work due to individual physiological idiosyncrasies, same as morphine-based pain medications do not work on me.)

Also, notably, the sting should diminish as you continue to use it.

Hope this helps!

Love hate relationship...I'm keeping it even though it feels like the devil. I have very sensitive eyes, and probably nose too. It is probably equivalent to putting pepper spray in your nose. But...after 10 minutes I did feel great with some lingering burning in my nose. I'm not sure I could handle this if I had a sever migraine because it would be too intense but I have taken it twice when I had a painful headache before it progressed to a migraine. I am trying to get off migraine meds for pregnancy so this may come in handy even though I really loathe using it.

I get migraines a few times per year and I really don't like to take advil, much less prescription meds. With Ausanil the results took literally 10 SECONDS. My migraine was gone in 10 SECONDS. I couldn't believe it. No side effects except for the sting, but as long as you remember to NOT INHALE and to blow your nose you'll be fine. Also please make sure you use A DIFFERENT TISSUE TO WIPE YOUR EYES if they tear! This is a fantastic product, easy to use (FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS). I keep one in my purse and one at work, just in case. I would recommend this product without any reservations.

As a migraine sufferer for over 25 years experiencing approximately five headache days a month, my only source of relief was the national brand migraine medication and sleeping in a quiet, dark room for several hours. In an effort to reduce the amount of medication I have been taking and to avoid taking prescription drugs, I have tried acupuncture and chiropractic treatments without success. Today I tried Ausanil nasal spray and I am truly amazed with the results! My migraine was behind my right eye and I sprayed the Ausanil in my right nostril as explained in the instructions. I did experience burning in my nostril, tearing in my right eye and sneezing, but this quickly dissipated in a minute or two. The migraine pain and nausea were completely gone in minutes! I will definitely reach for Ausanil the next time I feel a migraine coming on for sure.

If you're looking at this product, you get bad headaches-- maybe migraine, maybe tension, maybe sinus, maybe you don't even know what. You probably use or have tried lots of things, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines. I would strongly recommend this if you get terrible headaches.

If you get headaches occasionally, pass on this-- Tylenol will fix you up. But, if you're one of those people that gets a headache so bad that you can't do anything, or don't want to do anything, this is worth a try. It will help. It will be one more thing in your limited toolbox of things you can use when your headache is debilitating. I had one the other night so bad that all I could do was go to sleep and hope I would wake up better. Instead, I tried this. It worked. It worked well. It was not 100%, but it was very, very helpful. It took me from calling it a night to being able to read, watch TV, spend time with my family, and have a pretty nice night at home. You won't be running any marathons, but it will save you when head pain gets dire and ruins your life.

What it does is strange-- it's a mild pepper spray. Don't let the word "mild" mislead you-- it does more than tingle, it burns. It hurts. Your eyes and nose will run. It is not pleasant. But, please remember: you're already in tremendous pain when you reach for this, so what have you got to lose? Squirt, suffer, wait, blow-- relief! It works. And, it's pretty instant (within a few minutes). Many medicines must be taken daily, or in advance, or before things get too bad. Not this; it works quickly while you have a full-blown headache. It won't knock it out completely, but it will help immensely. Good luck, you have my sympathy and support as a fellow headache sufferer!
