This is not one of the heavy duty oversized wood boards. It is a very nice smooth blue colored felt backgammon board. Backgammon is a great game and has been played for many centuries. It is played by older kids and adults around the world. There is a good bit of luck involved but far more skill than most people realise. I have heard it said that backgammon is more complex than chess because of the number of potential moves. All I know it that my friend and I play regularly. I have this board and it's a great board for the money. It's a good size board, not too big to travel with or store at home. Good luck!

It is soft blue felt, pretty color and there are faces on the game pieces. It's a lot of fun to play with if you are an Austin Powers game. Plus it makes a fun, unexpected gift!

I do not think I will ever tire of enjoying this game. It is fun to buy games, but they often just sit on the shelf. I will return to the blue velour backgammon case whenever I can. It is very silly and wonderful.
