The inquiring eye of photographer Reg Morrison is recorded here in over 300 pages of nearly perfect color photos. That would make it a picture book except for the text by the author that tells stories of the geology (including the oldest known fragments of the Earth's crust), ecology (unique on Earth) and cultures (Aboriginal) that evolved as part of the Australian landscape and seascape. This is more than photojournalism. It is as the author sets forth "a comprehensive diary of Australia's evolution." Great gift for friends and fans down under.
