My item shipped from Hong Kong and as far as I can tell, is not the OEM part I expected (unless Toshiba is a.k.a. GD-JY-SHDZ COMP CO., LTD.). It is of inferior quality and durability compared to my original; light and flimsy, much shorter cords, no tie-off band. BUT, it was low priced ($49 shipped), it's working, and seems it will make a good backup. So, fair.

I bought this specifically because the description said it was a Toshiba brand product. What I received is not. That is not the issue, however. This is a two-part AC adapter where one part "plugs into" the transformer portion of the second part. The problem is that the parts do not stay connected well enough to keep the electrical current flowing. It takes too much finagling to get it to work in the first place, having to find just the right connection. Once found, a slight movement and no power flow to the laptop. I am currently trying to return this part as defective.

That said, the original order process and delivery went well with Northparts, hence the two-star rating. I will update the review to let you know how the return process goes.

The connector fits only loosely into the laptop socket (the diameter of the plug does not quite match the socket).
After just 1 month of light use the point where the wire comes out of the connector head became loose, so the contact is lost and I have to buy a new charger.

TOTALY USELESS. AFTER 2 MONTHS THE PLUG BECAME NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAD TO GO TO RADIO SHACK AND BUY A NEW PLUG AND CONNECT TO CABLE.

The reason I bought this is because the original adapter cord for my laptop kept falling out of the back of the computer. This product fixed the problem but only a little bit. I wouldn't recommend getting this product to fix that problem. Other than that the product works great and is smaller than the original!

The cord frayed within the first 2 days of use. It is as big of a hunk of junk as the last one.

After 3 years of use, my old one turned bad like what they said in reviews at Toshiba website. Any slight move of cable made power went off and that damaged my HD once. But still I prefer to use Toshiba rather than other substitutes.

I don't yet have any problem with this new one so far and hope I won't. BTW, when I got the product, the seal was broken already. Not sure if they gave me the returned one but didn't wanna bother exchanging as I did need the power cable at that time.

This adapter is perfect for my Toshiba Satellite laptop. No problems at all with ordering, receiving or using. Great service, definitely a recommended seller. Adapter has been working like a charm for over a month now & shows no signs of wear or any issues whatsoever.

This was the perfect replacement for our laptop for about 1/2 what it cost other places. It was hard to tell from the article but it also includes the power cord.

Received the power brick yesterday and was curious if it was really going to be an OEM Toshiba labeled product, or not as some experienced. The box said Toshiba and the power brick was also labeled Toshiba, so it is the real deal and the product description is accurate. My original brick lasted about 30 months, wonder how long this one will last.
