Which is more important, freedom or order? In Authority and the Individual, the first of the BBC's famous Reith lectures, Russell tackles what is still one of the most hotly debated issues of the twentieth century: the conflict between law, order and authority and the rights of each individual man and woman.

The audio from the first two of these six lectures can be found online, and with a lot of searching I was able to find the third one, but the remaining lectures were nowhere to be found. Luckily there are still a few copies of the lectures in book form floating around at some libraries and on Amazon.

The book is less than 100 pages in length, and it's an easy read. Nevertheless, these are some of the best and most important lectures on human society that I know of, and I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in these topics.
