Dr. Hall has provided an excellent resource for professionals and parents. This book covers classification and assessment issues, as well as approaches to treatment. As a behavior analyst, Dr. Hall has devoted two chapters on applied behavior analysis. The book promotes the importance of evidence-based practices. Practical information is given, along with research and theoretical background. With so many weak books on autism being published at this critical time, I was delighted to discover such a well written and thoughtful resource as this. I really believe this is a "must have!"

This is an incredibly helpful resource for new and experienced educators. Theories are explained clearly, and the examples are useful. I highly reccommend this book to anyone working with individuals with autism in any capacity.

As a professor who teaches several courses in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders, the Hall text is an excellent resource for an initial course in the area of ASD. 8/10 students in my introductory course openly indicate their satisfaction with the text and how they will use it as a resource outside the realm of the course. I enjoy reading it over and over.

Although some of the chapters may be academic, the book really helped to identify what is and isn't autism and ways to deal with it.
