From the Back Cover

Does God care about Autism? Kelly Langston knows firsthand the struggles and victories associated with autism-from the time she heard her son's diagnosis and was given little more than a handshake and a brochure to the time she watched her son sing every word in his school musical. Through her experiences-the good and the bad-she discovered a beautiful blessing: God does care about autism. Better yet, he has a unique and marvelous purpose for children with autism-a purpose no less than that of any other child. More than an “I've been there too” story, Autism's Hidden Blessings highlights God's blueprint for living a life full of joy and potential despite autism. Inside, you'll discover: -the inheritance of promises God has for you and your exceptional child -why autism will never limit God from revealing himself to your child -what to do when you are angry at God and how to move past it -why love is the greatest therapy of all -scriptural encouragement to help your family soar above the autism battle Autism doesn't define your child and doesn't limit his or her potential. If you're weary from the everyday battle against autism, join Kelly Langston on a journey to discover and apply the plan God has for your entire family. It's time to reclaim your joy, laughter, and most of all, hope. Kelly Langston is a marketing consultant and autism activist. She has written professionally since her early days in the journalism school of Ohio State University. Her blog Walking with Alec, has resonated with parents of autistic children from around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resources of faith for autism! April 5, 2009
Format:Paperback
"Autism's Hidden Blessings" is an inspirational story of one mother's journey, woven together with scripture and prayer, to help parents of faith (or those looking for faith) draw on God's strengh in raising children with autism. Kelly Langston candidly shares the dark side of this journey, acknowledging her own bewilderment, frustration, and feelings of inadequacy and even depression--as she struggles to understand and help her son. But when she turns this struggle over to God--not just once but in her daily faith journey--she sees the blessings that God gives to her son, her family, her community--and herself, not just as a mother, but as an advocate for autism awareness. There are many books about the medical, scientific, psychological, and social aspects of autism--this book provides a much-needed Bible-based spiritual resource for parents.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hope March 31, 2009
Format:Paperback
This book is an excellent resource of information for those parents seeking spiritual direction in their journeys with Autism. It offers scriptural reference to so many questions we may have in times of feeling hopeless or lost. I am not the parent of a special needs child, but I still found this book to be helpful and beautifully written with a wonderful message of hope in every page. Kelly Langston has a wonderful way of painting color in every word she writes, so you not only feel the words, but see the beautiful message being conveyed. An absolute must read for any parent who needs a helpful hand and avenue of help you may not have known you even had available to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing!! May 14, 2009
Format:Paperback
What a book! I could not put it down! It had laughter, tears, joy, wisdom and knowledge all wrapped up together in a great read. Kelly tells her story with open honesty and clarity. She does not hide the bad and does not take credit for the good but gives it to God where it should be. Her book is a story, not only of two parents facing a tremendous trial in their lives, but how God lead them to even greater heights in their knowledge of his ways and how he is ALWAYS working in our lives. Your life will be blessed by the truth and hope this book gives to all, not just to parents of autistic children.
