This is a great product, but the description Amazon provides is pretty spare.

The guard is 25" L X 6 1/2" H X 5/8" D (at its deepest point). It appears to me to be made of silicone, the same type of material as a California Water Blade for instance. It is molded with 1/8" thick walls. It has a sort of domed shape in cross section such that it is 5/8" deep in the center, tapering to the 1/8" flange thickniss at top and bottom. Two horizontal ribs run the length of the guard dividing the back of it into three cells. This works very well to provide some stiffness with plenty of cush to dampen an impact for both vehicles.

It hangs from two suction cups, one at either of the top corners. These suction cups appear to be of very good quality, with a small tab at the top to grab and pull for removal so that you don't have to pick at the edge of the cup. The cups are 1 3/4" diameter in the free condition and flatten out to 2" diamter installed. Based on 20 years of experience with aquarium equipment I think these suction cups are going to last a long time.

The product description touts this as a parking lot helper. "Leave your vehicle and rest assured that your auto will be dent, nick, and chip-free when you return!", it says. I say rest assured someone will steal it because it is so cool. I bought mine for my own garage. I am one of those rare individuals who actually parks two cars in his two car garage. I have a freshly painted classic parked next to the next project and as soon as I brought the car home in fresh paint it felt about six inches wider trying to get in and out of the car. This door guard was EXACTLY what I needed to protect my new paint job, and while it's not that important at this stage, it will also do a dandy job of protecting the car it's stuck on - which is what is was primarily designed for.

This is a great product, it prevent all scratches and door dents when your in your garage, that is where most door scratches seem to come from and now that I have this wonderful product the scratches are done forever.

Shipped fast, a great product and just what I was looking for. These are very hard to find, as Kragen Auto Parts and Pep Boys don't carry them.

When the door guards arrived I was surprised at their quality and construction. The thing is very simple but protects the car well against moderate hits. When using it in your own garage when you can estimated where the door from the other car would touch yours it is just perfect. However it is comparatively short and you would need ate least 6 pieces to properly protect your car on the parking lot.
