After getting stuck from the NE snowstorm "Nemo", I decided to use these to try to get out. They simply did not work and one was destroyed into bits and pieces.

They do their job. This is out second set. My wife has a rural postal route and needed something to help in case she was stuck in snow. The first pair, when used, one broke and one went flying into winter wonderland, but, they did their job. We thought enough of the product to purchase again.

The ramps have cylindrical studs that are about 1/4" in diameter and about 1/2" in length protruding the top and bottom surfaces. They don't seem like they would provide a lot of traction and could possibly result in some damage to a cold passenger tire in the winter, especially if the tire was slipping. Additionally, a strait ramp is difficult to fit under a tire that has dug itself a hole. I recommend looking at Rampage 7702 Grip Track instead.

I purchased these for my kids and husband as we live in the mountains of Colorado. We were out sledding and helping an SUV that was stuck. We were so excited for the easy fix. We placed the mats down and they broke into tens of pieces immediately. How disappointing. Use kitty litter.

The first time I used these to try and get a car rolling on an icy hill, one of them shattered as the car rolled over it. I think the material is too brittle to withstand the weight of a car. I'm returning them for a refund.

As a first time driver, who commutes every day to campus in New York City, you know that you ought to be prepared for everything. So i bought these guys figuring they can stay in my trunk, and if the need ever arises, they are only a few feet away.

One very cold, ice filled morning, I couldn't get out of my driveway because of the amount of ice that was piled up in front. So I got the tracks out, popped them on the floor where the ice met the pavement, and attempted to drive. Both slipped out, so I then attempted to retry it after stomping the tracks into the ice. Again, they both slipped out, and eventually, I just ended up digging out out the ice and getting onto the pavement.

I think the idea behind these tracks is great. You want to have something that can get you over a slippery surface handy in your trunk. But I think for these to be more effective, you need to have them weigh more, have more gripping ability, and be fold able. The folding part will help to make a better track. If its only one piece, then you can only lay it on a flat surface. But a fold able, two section track is better suited when you need to rise above a hump of ice or snow and get onto a flat surface.
