We got this at Christmas 2009. Initially we loved it once we got used to fruit and/or veg placement to maximize space. We especially loved it for bananas which we eat daily. Unfortunately this unit was short lived - the motor died well before Christmas 2010. I decided not to replace this item and have switched to Hefty Green bags. Guess what, these keep bananas and other produce just as well and are reusable - without electricity and a lot of counter space.

I have to wonder how this product passed any Quality Control functions. Green bananas for slow ripening before eating turned to mush within a week in this vacuum environment. Apples developed white fungus or something on the stems over time. I don't remember the instructions suggesting washing fruit prior to placing in the vacuum container. This was a total disaster and a full refund would be appreciated.
I rate it a 1, only because a 0 is not an option.
