Beautiful - Easy Install for the non-mechanically inclined!, September 14, 2011
This review is from: Auto Ventshade 680902 Chrome Hood Shield (Misc.)
I just purchased a used 2000 Chevy Tahoe, and I wanted a chrome bug deflector. I am not handy or mechanically inclined. The deflector was easy to install and the instructions were straight forward. (No words, just 4 pictures... but that was enough).
Step 1: Find the preexisting holes in your hood.
Step 2: Insert the 4 plastic anchors (optional scotch tape to keep them from falling out)
Step 3: Place the deflector over the edge of the hood and put screws into the anchor
Step 4: Stick 4 little adhesive rubber nubs on the outside of the hood (?)
I don't know what the purpose of those nubs are, but perhaps the deflector is capable of flexing all the way back to the hood and they prevent it from actually touching if it is bent back that far. (I really have NO idea...)
It took me about 15 minutes. And that was only because my hood had existing anchors from a prior install that had to be removed.
