About the Author

Ellen Finkelstein learned AutoCAD in Israel, where she always got to pore over the manual because it was in English. After returning to the United States, she started consulting and teaching AutoCAD as well as other computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. She also teaches courses on Web writing and usability. Her Web site, www. ellenfinkelstein.com, contains tips and techniques for AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Flash. Ellen has written many articles on AutoCAD and PowerPoint and has written books on Word, PowerPoint, OpenOffice.org, and Flash (such as Flash MX 2004 For Dummies, published by Wiley). If you are using AutoCAD 2005 or LT 2005 as a beginner who needs step by step instruction or a seasoned AutoCAD user who can use a good reference manual - this book is well worth owning. It is a very thorough and clearly written book. No new or old AutoCAD feature is left unturned.

This book is clear, concise, and well-written. It covers everything I've needed to know about AutoCAD, and probably everything I'll ever want to know. Explanation of the more difficult concepts is thorough and complete, and the exercises are very helpful, keyed as they are to practice drawings on the included CD-ROM. A great reference...structured by topic, so it's easy to find what you need.
