When the publisher calles this book 'Bible' he means it. 1200+ pages on how to use the software. The back of the book says that this book is intended for 'Beginner to Intermediate' users. To be sure there is an introductory chapter at the beginning of the book might be enough for a beginner to get started with AutoCAD. But I'd recommend starting somewhere else, like say a 'For Dummies' book.

This is more of a reference book for the user looking to do something that he hasn't done before. As such it is well designed:

First there are a series of chapters organized in a logical manner with headings that actually make sense. Then under the chapter headings there are sub headings that further identify common tasks.

Second the index at the back of the book is 40 pages long, filled with small type where hopefully you can find nearly every subject. By having so many entries there are multiple entries for what you might be looking for.

All in all, this is one of those books you keep nearby when you are using the software.

This book will be informative for the beginner and a great reference for the intermediate. Do NOT buy this book if you have ever been formally trained in AutoCAD or have read any real books - just more of the SOS.

I just started to go through this book and it is amazing how easy it is to use. I'm just getting into CAD 2007 in college and this book is helping me to get extra practice of the ins and outs of CAD 2007. I showed this book to my teacher and she is going to buy a copy she said it is a great learing tool and refference book.

a good reference for experienced users. Of course Autocad is so diverse there is not such a thing as a complete reference. but this is one of two that I keep at hand all the time.

This is not the first book that I buy written for her. She knows to write of direct and practical form, becoming the pleasant reading.

The use of the AutoCAD with this great book will be facilitated.

This was an excellent purchase. It includes a CD which allows "hands-on" learning. My original purchase had a broken CD. I initially thought I would be ok without the CD. I did not contact the seller right away. When I did contact the seller they did not hesitate to send a new book with an unbroken CD. I am very pleased with my purchase AND the sellers quick response to my concern.

I am a beginner AudoCad user and I am currently taking a class in AudoCad. This book put me well above the rest of the class. I got he book in just a few days. The CD that is comes with is very helpful. The exercises are great.

I teach AutoCAD in a community education program. This is a decent book for both beginner and those with some experience. There are many good books, really. This one probably ranks in the top 25%. It also has a helpful CD which is especially useful for beginners.

This is a big book with a ton of information. I have not gone through the whole book yet, but looks like it will answer any questions I might have about the program. I would purchase it again.
