This device mounts over any toggle wall switch and automatically turns it on and off without requiring any hard wiring. You can set the device to flip the switch up to nine times a day and remain on for one minute to 24 hours. As easy as setting an alarm clock, the unit's LCD control panel allows you to quickly choose the exact minute you want the switch to turn on a light or ceiling fan. Requiring no more space than the switch plate itself, the timer simply screws into the bottom hole of the face plate and still allows you to turn the switch on or off with the touch of a button regardless of the programmed time. Includes mounting screw. Requires two AA batteries. 5" L x 3" W x 1 3/4" D. (5 oz.)

I took a look at the digital light switch devices, but they weren't going to work for my light switch, which are two switches, as pictured. Also I don't have a regular electrician and didn't want to deal with having to find one, and paying someone for installation (I'm not good with electrical). The Auto Chron actually does install in a minute, like it claims. It works well, and it's a great idea if you want something you can easily install yourself. It basically has a device that moves your light switch manually, which you can also override. Just be sure to start with the light switch down, at the off position.

This product was a good choice to make a quick install without wiring or changing switch faceplates. Simple to program and works well. It is noisy when it switches on / off, but that is a minor inconvenience and lasts for maybe 2-3 seconds.

It works as advertised. Now I don't have to worry about the light being off if I'm not home by sunset. Keeps the burglers guessing. You can even progrm it to turn on and off at different times an/or days which alsokeeps the burglars guessing if you are not at home or go on vacation. I want another one for the back porch.

Error fix?
