This thing is just INCREDIBLE! I'm using my gripmaster desk in my 2011 Toyota Corolla (see images above). My car is considered a compact car... so the other reviewer may have a subcompact car making it more difficult to work with.

This is a SOLID car desk. Just buckle it in and begin transferring your stuff to your new desk. As a prospecting insurance agent, I frequently pick up business cards of those people whom I want to follow up with. I can now use files & an index card file box with ease in my car. (Try juggling those things WITHOUT such a tool!) And I can now keep my contact sheet and my planner out in front of me while I'm on the phone with my contact without having to be a contortionist!

The writing surfaces are made out of a ceramic or something much harder than plastic. The pictures of this desk online don't do it justice.

I ordered my desk from another vendor because they had a guaranteed next-day delivery for free... even though I did pay more money for the desk... it was well worth it.

I spend numerous hours in a vehicle and over the years I found it more difficult to just work out of a tote bag. I have looked at the Autoexe products over the past few years and decided to go with the Gripmaster version which put the clipboard slide out closer to me in the vehicle.

I have used the Gripmaster for about a week now and I am completely satisfied with the desk. I don't use the file portion for its intended use, due the desk being pulled out daily. That being said, I love the easy setup of the desk. I use various electronic devices and the Gripmaster non-slip has worked out great. I thought about the laptop design model, but I figured the it would be a little hard for daily removal.

The Autoexec desk seems to be designed well. Strong enough to handle the job, yet light enough to move in and out of the vehicle. Works well medium/large sized vehicles. Smaller vehicle may have to have the passenger seat full back. (in my opinion)

I would recommend to friends and co-workers.

I bought this for my husband's service truck. He previously had things sliding off the seat, and things flying when he went around corners or hit the brakes. He loves that there's a place for pens/pencils, a few files, storage for his what-nots. The top has a non-slip surface, and even his cell phone doesn't move, when placed there. It's just the right height for him to use his laptop, and enough surface to write on. He loves it!

This thing is huge. I don't recommend for a compact car, or if you frequently need the front passenger seat for a passenger. If you have a smaller car then it can be a bit cumbersome to pull the writing board out, in my wife's car, I can't even extend it fully because it will hit the gear shifter, and/or the ever present coffee cup in the console holder.
Otherwise, it is great for me having to work out of my car and using a laptop frequently. I got small plastic containers and put all my junk in them, the stuffed the containers inside the huge storage area in this thing! That works great and I always have my office supplies handy.
If you work out of your car, this is the way to go!
