Incomplete, yet still useful and encouraging,
By
This review is from: Autobiography Of George Muller (Paperback)
Returned to this book after interesting citations in John Piper's The Pleasures of God. To my dismay, I found, as did another reviewer, that this paperback ends quite before the original work does, and cuts out some heartfelt commentary about the illness of Muller's daughter. Ouch! However, I am using it in daily devotionals with my two sons (10 & 12) to great effect. So, while the book is shorter than I'd like for personal reading, it seems just the right length for younger readers and thoughtful discussion as in family worship settings.

Inspirational Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Autobiography Of George Muller (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite books. For about a year I carried it with me and read several passages devotionally. It is not in the original 1830 English of Mueller, but has been edited to be more readable. The book describes how Mueller accomplished his goal of being an example of answered prayer. I liked it so much I bought several copies and gave them to friends.

Although some may criticize this edition as being incomplete, it nevertheless covers most of the important elements of Muller's life. I've re-read this book many times. The story is stunning. What an inspiration!

This man had a heart after doing the will of God and trusted in Him for every single thing in his life. This is a must read for every Christian to build up your faith. I know it has helped me a great deal.

Incredible Book,

This review is from: Autobiography Of George Muller (Paperback)
This book is an autobiography of a man who ran multiple orphanages and a school by solely trusting in God to provide the support. This man never asked any individual for money. This book will encourage the believer to place all of your cares and burdens on the Lord. The reader will be challenged to seek after God for who He is and not for what He gives.

Should be titled - The noncomplete autobiography of G.Muller,
By A Customer
This review is from: Autobiography Of George Muller (Paperback)
This book only covers "selected portions" of George Muller's Autobiography and then only up to 1860. THE Autobiography ends just shortly before his death in 1898. My biggest complaint is the appearance that this is the complete work when it is only a very selected summary of part of his life.

Waiting on God,

George Muller set the example of how to depend on God and live by faith. Many of us ask God for monetary help and then set to work out our own deliverance. Churches and individual Christians could benefit greatly by reading this book.

I was so encourage by George Muller's life. Some real person like you and me lived a life so faithful and God also faithfully treated him. When our motivation is right with God, we can wait with assurance for his blessing.
Wish more Christian be encouraged by this book. Wonderful book! The Binding is not so good though. Pages started to fall off after one read.

This review is from: Autobiography Of George Muller (Paperback)
Some time ago my wife told me that she has heard somebody say that George Muller's story is amazing. Prior to this through the years I've heard people talk about this humble person who took in orphans in England. One day my wife, who used to live in England, encouraged me to get our copy of his autobiography that we may know the story of his life. So out of curiosity I purchased this book in amazon and from the time my wife and I started reading it we can hardly put it down. We didn't want to just read through it for the sake of reading it but we like to meditate and reflect on the experiences that he went through. We praise God for raising up this man of God to inspire the faith of many people. And we thank the Lord that there is a very good autobiography book that bears a record his life for us recent generation to read and enjoy. Highly recommended! |
