Book Description

October 19, 2008
The Life, Times, Wit and Wisdom of the Reverend, John Odra Craig

As a preacher, the good Reverend John Craig has preached for over 60 years in over 300 churches in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. He has been able to share his wit and wisdom with hundreds of thousands of people.

You'd probably not believe this amazing orator was born tongue tied, but he was. That and many other very unusual life circumstances molded him into the man who can share a Gospel of Hope and a Life of Love to all he comes in contact with.

Famous for his "Craigisms" - unique sayings that paint a way of looking at life that is uniquely his own, John tells a story like no one else.

This first edition of this autobiography will be launched on the celebration of the Reverend John Odra Craig, Jr.'s 85th birthday. The best is yet to come...

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

John Odra Craig has ministered to over 300 churches mostly in the Midwest. If you grew up in Nebraska, Oklahoma or Kansas and ever went to a Methodist church, the chances this man spoke to you is great. The chances that he used some witticism to drive his point home is also great and the chances you might still remember that saying is very great - as they were his trademark and they were memorable. He was raised as the son of a preacher and the typical PK with stories that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Then he raised his kids in much the same manner and when they were grown and gone, he and his wife took to their airstream trailer to deliver the news of Love and Life to everyone within driving distance. A bit cantankerous, more than a bit spiritual, a punster and an adventurer, the good reverend tells an amazing story about an amazing life - and he's still quite alive to tell you even more great stories about the life he is still very much living! The patriarch of four generations of authors, he, his son, grandson and great-grandson will launch their books on the same great day - his 85th birthday!

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Poor Richard's, March 23, 2010
This review is from: Autobiography of a Lesser Man (Paperback)
This book is a delightful read with both wit and wisdom, not unlike Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanack" or the witicisms of Mark Twain or Will Rogers. It's a book you won't want to put down, will be sorry when it's over, and you'll want to keep to reread on more than one occasion.
